Okay, All5n has been allocated Spain, nim8or has Italy. Sorry SlowHand, you were just to slow (geddit!). I will bear you in mind if someone drops out. Thanks for the interest.

Remember can everyone now PM the player before them in the list with their E-Mail address so that they can send their turn once the game starts (if they haven't done so already).

Can everyone post here to let me know that they are ready to start the game i.e. have received an E-Mail from the player after them with their E-Mail address to send their turns to.

Once everyone confirms this I will start the game (hopefully today)

About the AAR's that Dylan mentioned. I will turn the screenshots option on.

Perhaps its best to post screenies of turn 1 when we are actually on turn 3 as any enemies will see what armies you currently had, personal preference I suppose depends if you mind others seeing. It maybe too tempting for some to peek .

I agree that we should start our own AAR on the AAR thread at some point.

I have had a few PM's already and I must say I am getting quite nervous about the whole thing. I can see that swords are already being drawn and negotiations are flowing. Oh Gawd!

Wish I could start but Nim8or has not told me his E-Mail address yet. He only joined today so give him a little time. I hope everyone has E-Mailed their addresses now to the player before them. If anyone has not received theirs by this time tomorrow put a post up here and they will have to be kicked off and replaced by another player. Don't want to have to do this but we need to get the game started by the weekend. So come on peeps, make sure you get those addresses sent off.  Remember to post here if you are ready. I can only see 4 people who are currently ready, come on peeps.

This lengthy wait is doing my nerves no good at all. Now I know how the atmosphere of suspicion and hostility grew up at the turn of the 20th century!

One question:

I currently have the beta patch installed, is that the version we should all be using?

See previous page, you must have 1.10 beta. Not to be confused with the 1.01 beta or the 1.02 beta that were released earlier. I believe it was released on 28/12/07 but its a bugger to find on the Matrix site. Please everyone ensure you have the newest one.

I am at work at the moment and have received Italy's E-Mail address so as soon as I get home I will play my turn and send it to him  so no more waiting guys. The game will be on today. I think Nim8or (who plays Italy) is in a different time zone to Europe as I noticed he posts usually about 2.00am GMT, so the player after Italy may have to wait half a day.

Looks like the only player we are waiting for is Woodruff who is playing Russia. We don't need him in it to start the game but Woodruff, if you are browsing the boards please send your E-Mail address to Delyn (Britain) as a matter of urgency. If Delyn does not receive it by 7.00pm GMT today we will have to unfortunately let you go and Slowhand can take over Russia. I really don't want to drop someone. Lets see if we can prod him into action. Has enyone received a PM from Woodruff? He seems to have been silent, only his one post.

I appreciate all your interest in playing this scenario and wish you all luck and enjoyment. And try not to get too stressed about it, after all its only a game

You're correct, I am in the Pacific Time Zone (Seattle).  I have time in the early morning hours and evening however so hopefully you won't have to wait too long for my response.  Best wishes to all involved, I look forward to an enjoyable and spirited affair!

I am in the US Central Time Zone as well.

Please be aware that i play on a different computer while at work, so you will be getting the "Spain has cleared his history log" pbem cheat message.

Alternately, if you dont mind waiting i can just play on my computer at home in the mornings and evenings and you wont be getting that message. Its up to you guys.

Okay, the game is on, Turn1 sent to Italy  With regards to the time zone issue all5n just send it the quickest way. We are all adults (and old ones judging by the recent thread, lol), it would be childish for us to cheat. I'm sure we are all here for a challenge and to test our mettle. Let the mayhem begin.

I am standing by to play Russia. I'm patched to 1.1k. I'm in the US Mountain Time Zone, or -7 GMT. I'm sending my email to Delyn (Britain) ... HOWEVER, if Woodruff does re-surface later today (Friday, assuming he's in the US and a worker-bee), or before Delyn is ready to send his turn, I'll step aside and pass over the Diplomatic pouch, etc.

Pax, Out for now.

Just curious, did we start with the 2 Round breather option or not?

No 2 round breather, everyone is at war. You will have to send peace action cards to anyone who you want to now otherwise its a free for all. I have played my first turn and it was scary stuff. Not knowing what to build, where any attacks may come from. I accidentally put 6 trucks in my Luftwaffe which was clever. Managed to transfer them back, . Dont think Vic and Tweber are having these problems. Can't upgrade anything as it cost too much. Lots of decisions to make.

Woodruff has not responded and it is now 8.15pm GMT. Slowhand (Stalin) has now taken over the the Russian nation. Sorry Woodruff we just couldn't wait for you any longer. If you come back to the forum and still want to join I will remember you if anyone drops out.

Slowhand, you are now leader of the Russian nation. May your reign be fruitful (and get negotiating fast, lol!)

Hope we manage at least 1 turn this weekend, 2 would be sweet

OK, but none of this "Stalin" stuff ... I'm more that warm and fuzzy "Czar Nicholas" family guy.

Actually, per my post above, I'll gladly step aside in deference to Woodruff if he checks in sometime this weekend, even if I do a turn. I'll just pass the turn and my Diplomatic Pouch onto him.

Btw, Herr Bulldog, did you receive those shipments of Oil and Wheat per our Non-Aggression pact?

I see. Clearly, this isn't a group I'm interested in playing with anyway then, given your complete lack of patience when there's no possible way I was to know the game was about to start...sheesh, talk about ridiculous.

I'm a very reliable player and very prompt, but I'm not sure how I'm expected to be prompt when there wasn't any way I was to know I needed to BE prompt. Of course, nobody bothered to email me to let me know, when my email address is listed right there under my MEMBER DETAILS. I guess that was too much effort, right?

Turn 1 game file sent on to The Balkans.

Woodruff, sounds like a bit of confusion is all. My understanding is that the majority - if not all of the players in this game are fairly new to Advanced Tactics and possibly even to PBEM gaming in general, I know that I am certainly no expert. Slowhand seems a decent fellow to be certain, it sounds like something can be worked out - I'm sure nothing hurtful was intended. However it works out, I hope to enjoy a game with your participation in the near future.

Hold on, hold on.

Woodruff, please do take over the Russian position. The game has only just started, 3 more players before your turn. This is a good group of guys.

All the banter in my posts was joking and bluff ... no Diplomatic commitments have been made.
