I notice that when Feudal corp are placed that they don't get the movement for foraging.

This is not how I have played it in the board game and frankly it really can hurt the Turk.

The rule just says the feudals can't move the turn they are placed...it doesn't say all their movement is considered spent. I played a game as Turkey and about half the time the fuedals start by losing a couple of facotrs (3 corp have to start in 2 forage areas). Which doesn't make sense to me from a game balance standpoint. Turkey is the weakest MP on the board...one of the few advantages they have is a semi-free army. But now, to get that army on the board they either got to throw down depots all over for that first placement or risk a 1/3 of their force just to get it on board.

I agree that this couses Turkey major difficulties. I find it difficult enough to get a Turkish feudal army in position after Levy, to also be likely to lose 1/3 or more of the troops (the forage values of most of these areas is 2 or 3, which means that if you would place them in winter you have to forage at around 1.5 and in non-winter at around 3.5 on average ) or pay from depots that are usually desperatly needed elsewhere with money Turkey not really have to spare. I don't know atm how the original AiE rules was supposed to be but it seems balanced to at least give Turkeys feudals -3/-5 on any forage attempt during the phase they are placed.

Looked it up and it seems to me your right and the current implementation is inconsistent with the EiA.

Found an interesting interpretation of this...

"Do feudal corps pay for supply or forage the same turn they stand up?

OFFICIAL ANSWER FROM TAHGC: No"

Gents:

This is a serious issue. Can I encourage you to post this as a bug under the tech support forum?

Thanks for the heads up on this one guys. Shortly before release, Marshall finally changed a since inception deviation that allowed for feudal corps to stand down and return during subsequent reinforcement phases. With the transition back to the EiA rules, the supply and forage cost were overlooked when placing them back on the map. Its on the 1.02 list now.
