I believe I read something about this problem in another thread a few months back, so this may be redundant.

For my 1979 replay, I selected "Modern Closer Usage", although going in I knew my team would not have a regular closer. I'm going the "closer by committee" route. Just so I would be able to continue, I put Dave Hamilton into the closer spot on the roster screen.

I brought Hamilton into a game and he ended up pitching 4 innings of an extra-inning game. The very next day, I needed to go to the pen and there was Hamilton, in royal blue and feeling great. Since his name is not Mike Marshall , I was expecting him to be bright red and completely exhausted.

It's obvious that closers are not tiring and this needs to be addressed in a patch or the next official release.

Sometimes I feel like I must have upset Shaun in some way. I offer up suggestions, wait for a response from him.......and keep waiting.

Despite this, I will continue to heap praise on this program and attempt to steer others to the game and the board(s). When I see an area that could use improvement, I will speak out in (hopefully) a literate manner.

Am I to ass-u-me that my suggestions are being considered, or are they going into a vacuum?

I read all of them and respond when I can. I have a full time job, 4 kids and do PureSim on the side. For the last 4 days my wife has been out of town and I am home with the kids, so it's been full time Mr. Mom :)

This morning I had a few free hours before everyone in the house started stirring, so I've been catching up. Just diving into the code and setting up a test scenario to investgate each individual post can be time consuming, and add to that I am working on next year's version as well, so I'm a little slow right now.

Believe me when I don't respond right away, it's not personal. Just a lot going on :) I appreciate all the posts from everyone. Keep em coming.

Shaun

Closer fatigue modeling is a little skewed towards consecutive days used, maybe it's alittle too skewed. In outlier situations like this it looks like we might need some additional logic.

I've added it to the list of things to look into.

Shaun

This will be tweaked a bit in the next patch, your right, the fatigue model was to generous with closers.

I could just leave the smiley and it would say it all. Now I feel like a spoiled child (and I have one of those myself). When I thought you weren't paying attention, you were, in fact, working on the fixes behind the scenes. This really just reinforces what I already knew......Shaun is the MAN.

I thought, perhaps, my 1975 A's beating the 1975 Red Sox had somehow gotten me blacklisted. My credit card will be ready when the next release rolls around.

I am self-imposing a one-hour ban on myself for such behavior. Living in Alabama, words like "self-imposing", "sanctions", and "probation" are part of the local dialect. I'm not actually from here, but I learned early on what these words mean. Just don't give me the death penalty.

Humbly yours......motnahp

As a father of three, I'm not sure how you do it, Shaun, But I'm very glad you do. My credit card is at the ready, too (unless my youngest needs braces, or the brakes go out on the mini-van, or...)

Good Luck.
