In recent threads people have called into question the bunting and the hit and run componants of Pure Sim. Personally, I believe that the game does an excellent job of mirroring both. But the one thing that needs to be looked at is when the screen pops up asking you if you want to tag up and advance to the next base. When there's a 370 foot fly ball and I have a runner at third with a 65 base running attribute and the centerfielder who catches the ball has a 52 throwing arm; this should be a no-brainer, my runner tags up and is safe--but no, too many times he's out! Throwing a runner out at home from that distance not only takes the arm, the accuracy, but a runner with below average speed.

Because of this I've become gun-shy. Fly balls that go 410, and the text reads that the wind held that one in the ball park; I find myself not so sure if I should tag from third and score.

As always, I only criticize because I love this game so much.

LOL! This is a well-known beef, and it is nothing more than the "sh*t happens" rule. The random aspect of the game can be maddening, but in real life, the unexpected can occur all too often. IMHO, that's one of the best parts of PS' play results. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I found myself getting frustrated when I saw guys thrown out at the plate on Deep Fly Balls to center field, but I can now tell myself that it was the runner's fault. The runner thought the ball was deep, when it was actually shallow. Maybe he was fooled by something he saw? I can live with this.

What frustrates me much more often (as I've mentioned) is when I have a speedy runner on second and he stops at 3rd on a single to the outfield with two outs. I see this happening even with a 3-2 count and runners taking off with the pitch! There are several reasons why a player may stop at third with less than two outs, but there are VERY FEW times when a runner will not at least TRY to score with two outs! Unless the player is on crutches already or breaks a leg en route, he will NEVER stop at third with two outs and a 3-2 count on the batter. Unless this is a game-winning situation, teams won't even bother to throw home unless the fielder sees crutches, sees a leg break, or has the last name of Francoeur.
