For some reason, I cant seem to get unpurchased corp units down.

According to rules...as I understand it..

1) Click on province
2) Click on "Counter Pool"
3) Select unit
4) return to map.

Is this wrong....also according to the book, counters should be highlighted as green, but they show up as red to me, ...country is safe, and in no danger, have plenty of money why cant i get new guys?

RB

P.S. Also having problems placing new factors in corps, clearly "in supply", in home/friendly terrority, and with troop slots open.

Step 5) Click on the province where you want to place the unit (step 1 doesn't count - you have to select the
location AFTER selecting the unit to place).

You also have to select a province in step 1 that's part of the nation in question. What gwheelock is saying is that it makes no difference which area you choose in step 1; it's the area you select in his step 5 that counts.

Also, for step 4, you just have "return to map". It should read instead "return to map by right-clicking the gray area around the counters".

Good point.

RooseBolton, make sure you paid for the corps counter in the previous economic phase. If not, it won't be available.

You have to pay for them individually. $1 each. Same with fleets. But, NOT with leaders, cossacks, etc. They truly ARE free (although, some of them cannot be placed until certain conditions are met).

Regarding placement of factors in corps, being in supply isn't sufficient.  If you're outside the home nation, not only do you have to be in supply (and not invasion supply), but you have to be either co-located or in a region adjacent to a supply depot that can trace supply through at most some number of depots.  If there are intervening areas between the corps and the nearest depot, no go (unless it's within the home nation).

With militia factors, the supply chain limit is pretty short -- half that of regulars.

That, and some corps (notably feudals and insurrection corps) don't draw from the regular factor pool.
