Started my first pbem game, a historical first turn sc15 stock game 1.806, and get the Allies first return and dont get animations or reports on. This turn is the second one I've sent because I thought I set the settings incorrectley but it appears I did not. I went into preferences this time and turned them on (animations and reports). Will they appear for me next turn, and is this normal?

Also, the combat report (the 4 icons appeared after settings change) is out of wack. I assume I generate the correct report after I save Dec 8/41 and send it my opponent with the 001 file?

IIRC that is what happens in terms of the replay for some reason on the first turn... iirc it has to do with whether you are playing historical vs non.

The combatreport.txt file is generated when you opened the Allied players turn and executed the turn. If you are the Japanese it should match what you see in the animation...except you didn't see the animation the first turn.

Thanks Spidey Still some confusion then

I have the game up and still have the turn open right now doing my turn, copy and pasted the combat text report with a few comments inserted. I cant say for sure but most of the actions appear accurate as to units involved but then the number of casualties starts to tax my memory of what I saw on screen as I watched the first turn unfold. It looks more like a the same turn I ran vrs AI while I waited for my opponent to send his first turn.

Well since the turn you ran from your opponent didn't generate a replay then no combat reprot .tx file would have been generated - so you are likely looking at the AI version of the report.

Next turn your opponents save should generate a replay.

Thanks again, I'll do the turn and expect things to be in order for the second set of orders then. Look forward to my future Advice AAR's if helping forum newbs float your boat Spidey

With the historical first turn I think I'll title it " one legged ass kicking contestant ties one arm behind his back and goes to war "
