From a realism perspective, it seems that the game generates too many Caucasian players. My guess would be because there are three different "Caucasian" skin tones and only one minority or, specifically, black. I'm making no claims about anything in regard to this - no purpose or anything beyond the realism to accurately professional football in a graphical representation sense.

Is there any easy tweak to fix this? It seems like the skin color files are protected or something because I have simply tried overwriting two of the Caucasian files with the stock darker skin tone files, but the original files keeps getting regenerated.

Maybe this is a tweak that can be loaded in the excellent 3rd party DB editor?

I looked in the common folder and saw 3 different tones. Dark, med, and light or F3 F1 F2. These are the faces.
There are corresponding hand and skin files.

I would imagine David or a utility could adjust this.
Being caucasian myself, I dont necessarily mind the ratio :-) but I dont think David necessarily tried for any particular breakdown of the races. Although he could answer that better.

Although, im not sure I see that many more caucasians generated. In the many leagues i've drafted and played, I often see too many black QBs and too many white WRs. And that is compared to the NFL.

I would be curious to see the racial breakdown of say, the XFL, USFL, and the upcoming AAFL and UFL. For that matter, also the WLAF, NFLE, and all the Indoor leagues. I was a season ticket holder for the AF2 Jacksonville Tomcats for 1 season and there were more white WRs, DBs, and RBs on the various teams than you would see in the NFL.

Interesting topic. I would personally like to see this as an adjustable thing. Especially for those who like to recreate different eras.

Perhaps if you cut and rename some of the other skins to the ratio you would like, it would help.

Of course, some of the names won't work as well, so you may edit those with JD's editor.  As I recall, he may add a tool for skin and other player graphics.

If you look in the Common\PlayerPhotos folder you'll see the images for the player faces. There's a reasonably even mixture there. The game itself just picks a random skin tone out of the 3 available and assigns a random face that matches that skin tone.
