This is just cold....but very funny! Can I get fries with my sushi?

"Manager wants to see you.

Those few words are about as unnerving as they can get when you're a 23-year-old pitcher on a Major League Baseball team.

Kyle Kendrick of the Philadelphia Phillies heard those words over the weekend, and soon he was sitting in Charlie Manuel's office listening to the Phils' manager telling him he'd been traded.

To Japan. For a player named Kobayashi Iwamura.

Kendrick's jaw dropped.

"Do they have good food in Japan?" Kyle asked reporters in the lockerroom after learning of the trade. "I don't know what to think right now."

What the 6-foot-3 righthander didn't know was that it was a prank masterminded by teammate Brett Myers. Manuel was in on it. The team's assistant general manager was in on it. So were his own agent and a slew of other accomplices.

And, of course, it all got captured on video and placed on YouTube.

For the record, there is no Japanese baseball player named Kobayashi Iwamura, and getting traded to Japan is strictly forbidden in the Major Leagues."

It is well worth following the link to the video. Made my day.

Oh, man, that was a classic prank, perfectly executed. I'm glad to see that a sense of humor still exists in our game.

A prank like this can only mean one thing.................pitchers and catchers reporting to camp....can only mean one thing.............glorious days of another season are just around the corner!

I can't believe they got the assistant GM and his agent to go along with it. Just too funny!
