Have just updated with patch 1.02 over 1.02beta.
I find the game crashes to desktop when sending planes to artificial sighting. This didn't happen in the beta.
Have sent reports for a couple of times this happened, thank you.

Hi Guys,
   I've found (and fixed) this.

   This occurs when you place an artificial sighting before any real sightings are made for the day. Once a real sighting is made, a crash will occur.

   Apologies for not finding this one.

   We'll work with Matrix to find the best method of delivering the fix.

Any update as to when we can expect a fix? Because I'm finding it a complete pain in the ass and I'm certain it doesn't just happen when you've placed an artificial sighting before any real sightings have occured.

We're just waiting to see if anything else unexpected turns up, otherwise it won't take long to get the fix out.

The fix will be issued very soon, I don't have an exact date yet but I wanted to pass along that its very close.

Whats the status of the patch?

I've resolved not to restart the game till I receive a patch for what i
believe is a key play factor error in the game

Which patch? 1.02.2 came out in March and Art Sightings work now.
