Guys, from now on everyone MUST post when they have completed their turn and passed it on to the next person.

Balkans have sent on the turn.  As a reminder, since my old computer died and I'm using a new one, it will say that my log was wiped for this turn.  I had used a stand in computer for the last turn.  Good to see the game going again!

How did it go from Turkey to Germany without Spain getting it?

Turn sent to Scandinavia. Is any one going to oppose the Balkan/Italian domination of Turkey?

It is hard to justify allying ones self with someone that manages to lose multiple production cities in the first 3 turns.

The worst thing about it is the added production given to these countries at such an early phase of the game.

Yes, the second line is my concern. Since there is no 'allied' status, players cannot really fight together so if the Balkan/Italian division of Turkey is successful it will be difficult to slow down their progress later on. Anyway, being double-teamed is hard to survive, reguardless of skill.

Turn sent to the Balkans.  I was able to repulse an assault on Jerusalem by the Turks.  As far as I can tell, no other powers are at war though the British have just crossed the Sinai.

Is anyone going to propose an alliance against Russia?  They seem to be stirring up trouble.

The Turkish fleet is dealt a blow (actually trades a sub and destroyer with the Balkans, but I have their ship wharf) and the Balkans crosses the straits again and surrounds one of turkey's largest units while pulverizing another.  Airborne operations also have commenced as has a seaborne invasion to cut of Ankara from the middle east which was successful.  The Balkans could move quicker, but a large part of my Army is guarding my borders against any blows from jealous neighbors.

Won't anyone stand up to Spain, having such a nice position way on the border?

Sorry, I call'em like I see'em (whale biologist )

Really though, this is a decent observation, you can't fault me for that. Early strength and coordination would make me nervous if I boardered you.

Turn sent on the the Balkans.

For my turn, continued offensive operations in the Middle East and expect to capture Damascus next turn.  It appears that Germany declared war on the Balkans and rushed armor to my border.  So, I launched a pre-emptive strike on his leading element near Vienna.

all5n, read your post with interest. I am thinking of playing Advanced Tactics by PBEM. I have never done this before. I was on the point of joining but then you mentioned public email address. I forgot that I would have to do this first.

So now I shall reveal my complete ingnorance in the matter. Is Google Mail gmail.com? Is it a public email address? If I create an email with Google Mail does that cancel my original private email? What about all the friends and contacts who have been using my original email? Do I have to lose my first email address to be replaced by a second public email just so that I can play a game with Matrix?

Sorry I know these questions are a bit naive but I have never done this before. I went to the site at gmail - or is that also Google Mail? - and started reading it but wasn't quite sure what it was actually telling me. I think maybe I can use it but wasn't completely sure. In other words, there was a lot to read but I still did not know what it really meant. Did not want to commit myself before finding out the facts.

So I thought maybe you can just tell me in plain English what it all meant. My computer is in Italy by the way. But I would like to sign up to a game as soon as possible. Sorry to burden you with all this.

First off let me say welcome! AT is a fun game and i am always glad to see new players.

There is no restriction on how many e-mail addresses a person can have. I personally have 4:
One for work: this one is administered by my employer and monitored by them i am sure. business only.
Public: one that i use as my e-mail address when registering for websites and playing games. I expect a lot of spam in this account.
Private: This one i only give out to my friends.
2nd Public: Additional public account on a different provide (yahoo mail)

I am not sure what features outlook express has, so i dont know if it can handle multiple e-mail accounts. I use Outlook, and it organizes mail from all of my non-work accounts into different folders for me. If you want you can use their web mail and not bother with a client on your computer at all. It has all the functionality that you need to play.

As far as a game goes, this one is full. However i believe this one is still looking for players:

all5n, why is life complicated?

I followed through all the procedures with no mistake in order to create another email address but it would not accept it. Went to computer shop in here in Italy. The owner wasn't there but spoke to the helper. He started explaining to me - all in Italian - something about I need to go to a site in order to make the request for this to happen etc etc. So then I said well how about if I just do it on Google's Gmail. And he said "yes, why not?".

So now I am with Gmail and created a new email address. But then I discovered ok so when one of you "chaps" send me a saved game, I will have to save that game file, just sent to me, to another location OUTSIDE of my email programme "first". Then I go into my game and go to the "load saved games" in order to load that file from where I had just saved it to.

The problem I have just discovered is I am not sure, or I haven't seen it yet, whether Gmail has the facility to have my received email to be sent and saved OUTSIDE of Gmail to another file! I can have it archived within Gmail but so far I am looking for a way to have it saved to another folder OUTSIDE the Gmail programme. But so far I haven't seen a way to do this!

My question to you is do you know if it is possible? Do you know anything about Gmail?

In any event I will have to go up to the computer shop again to see if I can get the owner there to help me get my Outlook Express to accept another email address. I cannot even get emails sent to Outlook Express to be forwarded to Gmail because I have to add the new email address of Gmail, but as I explained before, for the moment Outlook Express is not permitted to open another email address. "Bl**dy hell it's one problem after another and I have to do it all in Italian especially when I have to go to certain sites and the procedures are in Italian.

Anyway with time something will get sorted. This is why by the way I have not yet joined a PBEM game yet.
