Geltlemen,

The whole site was down for 10 days? Did you expect the "upgrade" to be that long???

Now I don't seem to be able to reply or post in the forums. Is this a temporary condition or is my id now disabled???

You should be able to post to the site. We did not plan on being down this long but the system transfer took a lot longer then we had expected.

You should be able to post to the forums. If you continue to have trouble, and if you are using Internet Explorer, you will need to clear you cookies and log back in.

I guess it looks ok now. Yesterday, I could post a new topic (like this one that I started, but I couldn't reply. It seems ok today.

My real name (Mike Santos) used to come out as the poster, but now my login name shows, can I edit this in my profile or something? That would cut down on confusion from everyone seeing what they might think is a "new" poster stirring up trouble in the PacWar and WiR forums :-)

Hmmm, before the change I had about 280 posts. Now, after the change, it shows I have only 100 posts. . .

Oh, well. Something to work for I guess. . .

There are switches to count posts in a variety of ways and one selected forums. We did lose some posts (we not sure) in the move. We will try to find and give "Credit" for the "lost" posts eventually.

No promises though, if they're gone, they're gone...but if just hiding, we will try to root them out.

Happy to be here again. I was very worried because I could not access the forum, day after day, and I did not know the reason either.

When you visit this place every day, it is not easy to be without it.

Good it's running again.:D

The import of the message bases from the old text file forums to this new database forums was not 100%. My main goal was to import the membership and the threads. Post counts did not import correctly and the main reason is that the old forums and the new forums use post counters differently. I had too many other things to do rather than worry about post counts. :)

HerrGeneral:

I was just having some fun. You guys have enough to worry about besides tracking down some missing posts :)

BTW, where do posts go when they go missing?

Do they all go to the same place?

Do they get lonely?

If a post gets lost in cyberspace, does it make a keyboard sound?

:D

I don't think the posts are really missing. I think they just counted wrong during the import. ;)

Silly computers can't think on their own and require us to tell them everything to do.
