access denied on inital login screen, why?

I have a problem.
On the inital login screen on the matrix website.
I enter my name and passworn, and I get back an access denied response.
But when I come to the forum pages, I can now log on successfully.
Is this because the Matrix games site login is seperate from the Forums login? or is this a bug?
Is the matrix site login for a seperate identity/account?
If so, how do I check to see if I already am registered, aside from saying I've forgotten my pasword?

Status: offline 		I have a similar problem. If I try "www.matrixgames.com" I get an error about a "Virtual directory" or something, but "www.matrixgames.com/forums" works. Why?

Status: offline 		Because the site isn´t "officially" open yet. Therefore the main domain isn´t working right now. But, as a matter of too long nights, we forgot to lock the backdoor ;) that´s how some guys cam through and we decieded to have at least the forums open for everyone now ;).

Also note that the login on the Matrix Website has nothing, I repeat, nothing to do with the forum login. These are two pairs of shoes.
