I'm tight on B-24Js but have lots of B-24Ds.

How can I switch some of my J equipped units to Ds?

Thanks.

Go to the upgrade screen and select the type of aircraft you want...

If you've upgraded ALL your units so you have none of the particular aircraft (in this case B-24Ds), then you can not downgrade.

If you have a current unit of the type you want to downgrade to, or if you have one on the reinforcment track, you can downgrade.  You also need enough aircraft to maintain your placehold squadron plus the squadron you wish to convert.

But if you don't have any squadrons currently equipped with that unit, or on the track, you can't downgrade.

I try to keep one squadron of most types, simply to keep a reserve of obsolete aircraft, and it also allows one to keep open the various upgrade paths.

PDU's must be turned on, of course.

Well, it helps to do it for more choices, but i don't think they have to be on to downgrade.

Negative chief.

PDU's off only gives you an upward upgrade path.
No backtracking.
