Reading the overview I see where it is playable by 2 to 6 people. Is it not palyable solo against the AI? I sure hope so.

Welcome.

Yes, playable both solitaire (against yourself) and against an AI Opponent.

There are links at the top of the forum to screen shots and tutorials.

You might want read the tutorial threads to gain an understanding of the game. But if you do that, I recommend skipping the posts that do not have a picture - unless you have a lot of time and enjoy reading obscure stuff.

I would urge you not to waste time with the AI but to join or start a group to learn the game. It would be time much better spent.

There are introductory scenarios to get a handle on the game mechanics. After you have become familiar with the game play there are options you can select from to make the game more interesting.

Does this mean when you play as France/CW you'll attack Switzerland when Im the Axis? (Fingers crossed)

I'm paraphraseing from "Whoops Apocalypse" (1982). Where the Soviet Premier is explaining to the Prime Minster of Great Britian.

Premier Dubienkin: Neutral countries have two options - medium or well done!

Actually GBS, the AI should be at least strong and varied enough to learn the game given the quality of the people involved, the long experience with the system and the extensive process to distil this knowledge into the AI.

A nice dream but I have yet to find an AI with any strategic sense that is worth its weight in sand.

So therefore you chose to repeat the same mantra like someone in a catatonic state when you can easily read that something else has been decided. What peaks my interest is what drives you to do this.

Perhaps I spoke in haste. As a learning tool an AI is useful and certainly not that bad. However Ive seen too many people waste too much time destroying the AI repeatedly for many months when they could be playing an opponent and getting the most out of the system. If Matrix were to release the game without an AI and then add it as a patch further down the road I would not even wince.

Fortunately, in the past this discussion has already taken place and been put to bed.

I'll wait until release to pass judgement on the AI. But I hope for the best.

Perhaps youre just not getting it. The idea of an AI is the utter antithesis to this game. This game is almost the ultimate WWII experience and after I re-engineer the rules this will be the ultimate wargame of all time.
