I have an odd problem, which got worse after the last patch.

When I start to build units, they start out with some ungodly high attack and defense strengths, which gradually start creeping down. Sometimes they will "stabilse" at what seems to be appropriate values, but in some scenarios they just keep shrinking until the weakest units become 1-1's, and the average for the others are around 2-3 or if I am lucky 4's or 5's.

This happens on the smaller scales, company to Battalion strength, on 6 hour to half-day turns. Haven't tried any higher scales, I am concentrating on low level modern combat units. Comparing the strengths I am getting to say the units in Saddams Last Gamble, they are way off most of the time.

Any tips, fixes, whatever?

Pleaze Obi-Wan, you are my last hope.

Working as intended  unit strength are calculated according to the equipment values. If you create a unit with a lot of high AT and AP valued equipments, the rest of the units strength will be recalculated proportionally.

What he said ... plus .... The editor calculates the highest unit strength to be 31. So for simplicity, if you first make a typical battalion, and the editor gives it a strenght of 31-31, then you make a regiment that has 2-3 times the equipment of the battalion, the regiment becomes 31-31 and the battalion will drop to say, 15-15. If you have one unit with alot more equipment than the others, you will end up with a bunch of 1-2's all over the board (Ughhh!). Magical Musical Combat Strengths!

Hint ... this is a good way to judge one type of balance in a scenario. If most units are 1-2's and 2-3's, I consider something to be out of wack somewhere (just my opinion).

..mmm, in the Vendee, most revolutionary units are that, the only imbalance i could find was the designer using horses and not oxen to pull the guns..
