Yes, that's the Carry values. You can look them up in the unit details screen.

Our manpower crisis is effecting our ability to continue offensive operations. Without the ability to replenish all loses i am having to pick and choose where to attack. Hense i have been counterattacked and pushed back around the southern most port.

I can't afford to get replacements so i've researched staff 4. My soldiers will fight 25% better then they did at staff 3 hopefully that can offset the trouble we're having fighting off the russians.

My southern front is at the doors of moscow. I actually officially renamed the army group at kiev from AG Center to AG South. I also renamed AG South to AG Center though there is not much AG center stuff right now its all off supressing partisans. Thats a big unit at stalingrad i will need to build an airbase so my airpower can disable enough to make an attack possible.

This is my northern front. I'm 2 hexes away. On the main road running East West the tanks have been pushing me back but thats fine. On the southern road there are weak units. I also have 2 panzer divisions on the right flank i'm going to try to encircle some units to weaken the soviets.

Well not completely destroyed but they were 300 PP units before now they are about 50 next turn they should be destoryed. Again you will see the manpower shortage is really hurting me.

I was able to hold the russian bear back which will keep my southern flank secure this turn at least. I am able to afford 60 RIFLE IV's a turn now and my manpower will keep going up so i put 30 of them on this flank and the other 30 up by moscow. The sooner I can take these cities the sooner russia will surrender hopefully.

WIll they surrender or will i have to completely pacify them?

This was a very succesful ambush of a column on its way up north to leningrad. I hope them through the forest and they never had a chance. This is the kind of thing ineed to do when i can't afford the attrition warfare i have been in the past 5 years. Oh man has it been 5 years already it seems like only yesterday i was supressing a soverign nation and starting on my journey or evil. How time flies when the corpses start to pile up.

It would have taken forever to move those turk units and they would have lost supplies quickly so i've got a high class engineer there that can build 2 roads a turn into those low mountains. I need those turks to be supplied to draw off pressure from other fronts. But with AI++ it seems like its a never ending spread of units.

Such a roller coaster this war has been. I thought for sure i would lose when the allies landed 150k men on my shores but i fought them off. I managed to push russia back but i'm running out of people to throw into the meat grinder.

Just a note on this game and also the stony road mod for HOI/HOI2 i love the manpower that tweber put into this scen. It's so awesome having to now slow down because i can't keep affording to just try to outproduce my enemies. So even when i have enough production to make 2000 rifles a turn i just have to be more careful i really love that.

I just had another look at the scenario: each unit you build costs 1 Manpower, regardless of type. So if you're low on MP, build more expensive stuff like artillery, and less Rifles.

I've had to do a little bit of a strategic withdrawal! But i did manage to build that airfield in the center that should give me some good ability to tear apart that armor once i stabilize the line.

ANd thanks to zook it looks like next turn i'm goign to become an all tank army :)

I know about the cost, I'm playing WaW v30a1 by PBEM, and I don't consider foot troops useful. I still have a few foot divisions in late '41, but I'm trying to provide at least some horses for them all.

Aha! That's the catch! I assumed you are talking about 'normal' AT ... (I haven't played WaW yet, and have NO idea what's going on there)
See, in 'normal' AT a horse unit moves 4 hexes on road AND most of the random games I keep playing don't have that much roads (OK, OK - some do...) so there's a lot of "off-road" movement in which there's not much difference.
I see your point though - very impressive figures.

bwheatly:
click on the unit picture on the main 'battle' map - in the centre column of tables in the upper-right part of the screen you'll see the part that says "StackPts" - this is stacking point value of a unit.
The effect is - as I get it - that you get ADDITIONAL casualties if you have more than 100 stack points in a hex that's being attacked or attacking. (zook08 - correct me if I'm wrong for WaW ... ) Although you can have as many as 150 stack points if you atack from three hexes simultaneously (+a 50% combat bonus) AND 200 stack points if you attack from four hexes (+a 100% combat bonus) Again - this is from 'normal' version - correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, that's it. Cheers!

P.S. I just read about some 'manpower' in one of the recent posts... can you enlighten me, please? Thanks!
