Hi. Are there tools or utilities similar to the WitP Decoder or other utilities to make keeping track of units, bases, etc for easy viewing?

If not, what methods do you use to help you keep track of things?

I don´t think so.

A high IQ.

Actually there is a tool I use Stele. Over at Spookys site there is a complete scenario 17 at 100% Order of Battle with all ship, air, ground, well everything in the game file to download with arrival dates. Replacement rates too. I use it all the time.

If one keeps good enough record you can paint a pretty good image of your opponents capabilities at any given time in the game with this tool and some record keeping.

Think how important intelligence on the enemy is. Imagine having your opponents password for example and the benefit that would give. Well, one can´t do that but they should try to get as close to that as they can. That´s why in some of my AAR´s you see me mentioning counting planes and ships sometimes. This is why and what I´m doing.

So I use that tool and mark it up as I go along with my checks and comments all the time.

Thanks Ike. I'll look that over. I've been dabbling with the game here and there over time, but now it's time to have some serious fun.

Nothing exotic, but there are icons at the upper left of the UV screen to check your bases for support/supplies and damage to individual ships; checking the latter can allow you to locate and scuttle a sinking ship, thereby saving some points.

Spreadsheet warfare at its best!

Is a tracker system really needed for UV ?

Sorry, I don't have a copy of the game, but I do play WITP, and I thought this was just small scenarios without any production involved.

If someone wants to send me a savefile, pm me & I'll look at whether a cut down version of witptracker is a possibility.(with Floyd's blessing & time permitting - our main focus is really WITP)... or if UV developers want to give me the game, I'd be equally willing to look at it ... (nudge, nudge, wink wink)

When CF comes out there will probably be a lot of renewed interest in UV ... including my own ... so maybe this will be something for the future.

I think not because I don´t even know what a tracker system is or does.

I don't know exactly what the tools in WitP do, I will soon though, I am almost done with my UV game and I will start a WitP game.

But often I find I lose track of things (sort of guessing about the tracker part of WiTP tracker). Esp early. I couldn't guess how the guys playing PBEM keep track of things through multiple games.

A basic tool would be most useful, mainly for keeping tabs on everything going on. I need to name each savegame with a summary just so if I go afk or log off I know what I am doing when I come back.

I can send you a save game, what did you want?

Hi,
WitpTracker is a util that works for WITP...NOT UV presently. This is more of an experiment than any real promise to do anything, as the savefile might be totally different for WITP and UV...

If you have any viewpoint on this please post here and not there to avoid confusion.

The util works for both Allied and Japanese players (Stock/BB/CHS ... RHS is not supported yet) to provide some overview and specific details about all aspects of WITP by reading the savegame file ...

These might give you an idea of what it does ...

Some Screen shots when still in development:

Just tell me what kind of savegame if it even matters. If it doesn't just tell me where to send it.
