Hey guys:

This is a list of the fixes in my 1.02j BETA. I am shutting down from new issues for 1.02j to allow testing. Now, the important question ... I need some testers! Who wants long hours, little pay, little glory but LOTS of fun? I need a few more guys to volunteer to run this thing in the ground before we get to BETA. If you're interested (And guys if you were already a tester then ping me and let me know if you to do some more!)

marshalle@matrixgames.com

This is a raw work que and not final release notes. I apologize for the raw format but the order is:

BUG ID - STATUS - DESCRIPTION / NOTES

LC3 Fixed in 1.01 AI not taking militia casualties when they are all that is left

102R7 NPF Called minor allies (second timers) are not making counters available for placement

S3 Fixed in 1.02j Can setup more than 20 factors in Corfu for Russian setup
Changed in new games only!

ME Fixed in 1.02j AI: Fleets not acting in large enough numbers

ME Fixed in 1.02j AI: Fleets not combining in best ports properly enough to defend well.

ME Fixed in 1.02j AI: Fleets making suicide attacks (Need more force in attacks)

ME Fixed in 1.02j AI: Need to improve channel guarding

Fixed in 1.02j St Petersburg is showing to be part of karelia province
This is actually correct. Map was changed to refelect proper provincial borders for new games

only!

G18 Cannot duplicate in PBEM games, some units disappear when they are clicked
In the G18_2 game, the Holland fleet is shown in 2 places. I would like to know which place

the fleet should be if this is possible and how (Moved, fought, etc) this happened

G16 Fixed in 1.02j Game does not have second Peidmont corps
Fixed in new games only.

G20 Fixed in 1.02j FS income not displayed correctly.

ME Fixed in 1.02j MP1 able to call an MP2 ally to war when MP2 has an enforced peace period with the prospect

MP target.

S4 Fixed in 1.02j When removing depot in setup phase, using remove counter button, depots do not go back to

pool.

D15 WIP When the CoR is created, it morale reverts back to 2/3 (inf/cav)

D20 Fixed in 1.02j Program is not allowing the Austrian Insurrection corps or Spanish guerillas to be loaned
Now allowing ALL units (Including sea) to be loaned!

D30 NPF Program repatriates victor’s garrisons from ceded provinces after original owner of those

provinces surrenders for a second time to that victor.

D31 NPF Program does not exchange the victor’s captured leaders when peace is made.

D32 Fixed in 1.02j program is allowing AI to stay in ports where they should NOT be allowed to!

D33 NPF MPs not evacuating capital cities

R5 Cannot duplicate Garrison dissappearing after loading turn file
Could not find problem in this file. Looks like GBR deleted this unit during their turn???

R10 Fixed in 1.02j game is allowing Turkey to bring back feudal units in the reinf phase

R11 Fixed in 1.02j In PBEM games, the banners come up twice for a major power (once at the start of the

reinforcement phase and another at the end). Meanwhile, the next major power in sequence

never sees any banners.

N7 Fixed in 1.02j order in which the program takes ship losses during PBEM games is incorrect (i.e. major is

coming before minor)Order will be lt ships (minor then major) then hvy (minor then major).

This could cause lt fleets from the MP to be taken before heavies of a minor.

ME Fixed in 1.02j Naval retreat not selecting eligible adjacent ports

ME Fixed in 1.02j Some minor FS ports are being evacauted in error
Result of R254 fix

N8 Fixed in 1.02j Unable to lift blockade and save fleets when city is captured
This fix is due to the fact that ALL ports should be scanned at the end of land / reinf and

sea phases so a sea phase should never start with fleets trapped in a hostile port

N12 Fixed in 1.02j Nelson is not being recognized in blockade lifting battles

N13 NPF Targets are not carrying over from one eco phase to another in piracy missions
Test ok

N22 WIP Program created a sea combat phase for no reason then allowed assault attempt

L37 Fixed in 1.02j Depots are being included in supply warning before ending land phase
Change message to warn that depot is out of the supply chain

LC14 Cannot duplicate When there are multiple defenders in a PBEM game, the program does not tell the attacker

which defender to send the file to.

LC15 WIP Program accessed each battle’s political point gain/loss correctly, but then listed each

battle more than once in the Status Panel and further increased the PP gain/loss when it did.

E9 NPF When provincial capital is occupied, the original major power is still collecting money and

manpower (violating 12.2.1 and 12.2.2).

E10 Fixed in 1.02j "Three known bankruptcy bugs:
1. Program allows player to transfer a negative balance to

controlled Free States
2. Program will not allow player to use available manpower to build

militia.
3. Program will not allow player to make purchases for their controlled Free

States." #3 could never be duplicated. This worked fine

ME Fixed in 1.02j Need more descriptive message when in setup and factors are left to place!

ME Fixed in 1.02j R214 has caused compatibility problem with games older than 1.02h

ME Fixed in 1.02j Some ships that are off the map may be seen as in a port and are trying to be evacuated

Good to know.

WIP = Work in progress, presumably.

Less clear on NPF = No problem found?  Noted, pending fix?

What does (including sea) mean ? Does this mean fleets ?

Hey guys:

A little legend might help here.

Fixed in x.xx = Fixed

Cannot duplicate = Means that either the save game only shows the results after the problem and/or save game is not available and/or could not find a problem in the code. Typically this will need a few more saved games or examples.

NPF = That this save game actually worked fine. This could also be the result of an accidental fix.

BTW: Bresh, I am allowing fleets to be loaned now. We haven't tested this a whole lot yet so be a little patient with me in this one since I may end up puilling this one out if our testing reveals that this creates other problems.

Would be nice if this works. Did this "D20 Fix" also include Corps with leaders loanable to ? Since you wrote ALL.

I do think for gameplay those are of very high value. Along with the shared PP gain/losses for combined battles.

While I appreciate the work that has been done so far I have no sympathy for you.

These things should have been dealt with before the game was released. There is no excuse for shoddy work.

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting.

For months.

I understand that you are frustrated, but there's no need to take shots like this. Marshall was asking for some additional testing help to speed up the process, not for sympathy.

- Erik

I've been waiting five plus years for this game to come out. And I'm not the only one. Given the time involved, and the minimum amount of effort involved in putting the game out, I knew it wasn't going to be perfect out of the box. Heck, Matrix could have walked away from this project at any point in time over the past five years, but they've chosen not to.

Am I happy with where it is now? Heck no. Do I think it will get better? Yes. If it doesn't, I'll walk away. Will I have lost my investment in it? Sure, but thats the risk you enocunter these days. To their credit, Matrix is trying to address the issues as fast as they are able, but in todays' world, there are to many Veruca's out there.

Complaining, while cathartic, doesn't help the overall process after awhile. Sitting there, stomping your feet, and threatening to hold your breath until you pass out until you get the game you want (nay, deserve) isn't helping either.

You want to be part of the solution, do more than complain.

I think I should clarify a bit.
We've always had testers on this project for years way before release! Over a period of time, people's lives change and they drop out and I must ask that others come in and replace the ones who drop out. That is what I'm doing here. Sorry for the miscommunication. Does this clarify a bit?

But it does feel good. And feeling good is what makes me happy.

Like when my Imperial Guard plants garlic on the lawn in front of Buckingham Palace.

Hello,

This already happens in one of my game, I'm not sure it came from that but the 2 players concern by this bug have a different version of the game. (classic one and the 1.01b)

We where unable to fix it so we restart a new game...

I hope it will help you.

I have reached out for more examples of this issue. The big key here is that the problem appears to happen before you loaded your turn so the games I have been getting are only showing me the results. I have been scanning the code sections for this but it is a bit time consuming and could easily be fixed if we could see the problem as it happens.

If you see this or can dup this then PLEASE send me what you can.

Here is an image of the next battle step where it shows the losses were not taken. From this post it appears it is fixed in V1.02j.
