Thanks for the advice kshinner, I will give it a go in 7.0 and if I get the bug leave it until 7.1. Still its nice to be called 'young' when I've just turned 40!

I knew the crowd was a bit aged but I didn't think I was that far under the median heheh
I got 40 myself.

Kinda nice not being the old guy for once. Around home all my friends are basically younger than me and can't understand anything I like heheh.

Most have no idea what a board game even is. I say RPG and they think Final Fantasy. Most don't know why I own so many 6 sided dice either. And heaven forbid they should be told to read ALL of the manual first eh.

History to most of them is the Gulf War.

Nice to see I'm not the most senior member after all!

Just a warning to those under 40, on my 40th birthday I fell off my bicycle and forgot to take my lecture notes to a teaching session. I'll start worrying when I forget to assign my arty in SPWAW!

Still I'm not worried It seems from all of the answers on this thread that I'll have another 30 years or so of wargaming yet!

Any idea who is the youngest regular SPWAW player!

herr1 I am with you on the forgetting issue. My wife tells me I can remember to assign an artillery barage in "that stupid game" but I NEVER remeber to take out the garbage. I tell her it's all a matter of priority-which really ticks her off.

Perhaps if your wife were to put 'victory hex' stickers on the trash bags it would help motivate you . . . :D :D

Well, as the saying goes "Age before Beauty", so it's probably approproiate that a lot of you have posted before me, as I'm a mere 28 - and 19 weeks into churning out the - perhaps - youngest SP player.

AbsntMndedProf-jeez, dont't post a message she might see over my shoulder. That might give her ideas-and she has more than enough now. Victory hexes on the garbage-jeez.

I'll be 40 next Christmas; I notice when I say 'I'm 39' people pause for a second. Wasn't that one of Jack Benny's signature jokes: always saying he was 39?

Sometime last year we had a thread going on age of spwaw. I do not remember the youngest, but I know several teens spoke up(young teens)-where are you all now? This game has an age range that is probably the widest of any game out there.

Alex definitely has an unfair advantage.

Everyone knows a son will do more for their mother.

Just wondering though Alex (as I dont know the person as yet), what is your husband like. Is he a wargamer like us?

Or did you get a standard issue male.

46 here, never been to a war, don't wanna go to one.
I like my combat nice and sanitized, and ready to quit whenever I feel like it. Pretty spoiled, eh? :p

Les,

I don't think that there's such a thing as a standard issue male! You're all so different, though many have many things the same about them.

And, were I to go into everything I could write about my dear hubby, I'd Spam the Matrix Server to death! And you'd then all be quite mad at me :)!

But, yes, he is a gamer, and often reads here over my shoulder, though not right now.

And, on a side note, it's probably a girl. We *should* know for sure next month - the ultrasound last week was inconclusive, but is leaning girl way.

Alex
