Hello,

I ran into a problem in the game that makes it unenjoyable, leaders unattaching and being unusable. I have the official 1.01 download released in Feb, is there a new patch out? I was told to patch to 1.02g or j.

What am I missing here? Is there an official 1.02? How should I update this game? Where are these patches?

I have not been following this forum, did I miss a bunch of patches?

Thanks,

Mike

P.S. Sorry if this has been asked a million times

Do tech people answer questions here? Or should I email?

As with almost every patch released so far, it's an official beta. Perhaps alpha, in so far as it's not unheard of for these to also introduce fairly major bugs, or to have compatibility issues with ongoing games.

You need to register for the "Members Club" if you haven't already (different login than the forum, probably different database backend and not worth it to synch 'em). Register your copy of EiANW. Then there's a beta patch available under the 'Private Downloads' bit.

That bug is fixed in one of the beta patches. If it shakes out OK, it might be released in a week or so. If more bugs are uncovered, it will be held back.

1.02j is far more playable than 1.01 was, but 1.01 crashed less often. It's difficult to say which one is "better".

Ouch! Will there be an official patch coming soon? Or is that what you are trying to tell this thick-skull?

I guess I will wait for the official one, rather than monkey around with this beta stuff.

Thanks,

Mike

I won't comment on the relative thickness of your skull. :)

But, yes, that's what I was trying to say: They should release what is currently called 1.02j shortly, assuming it doesn't explode on them or something.
