I have the same trouble with my pc Leeman (slows down with some of the graphics)

so I took some time out from making uniforms to make a grass texture for the likes of us
uploaded them to FBMAX for ya' file name "Mykals Grass Textures"
I've added all the hash marks and field lines it even has some divets in the turf.
Its low res (only 8 bit) so wont slow the game down at all.

pack includes T1, T2, T3 & T4

Good job Mykal!  I forgot that some peoples PC's would not be able to run the high res grass textures. I apologize. I bought a gaming PC back in the end of January and I have all my graphics set to the max on all the games that I play. For those who do not have a problem running my grass textures on there systems I have created version 2.5 and it has all of the field lines I forgot the lines on the yard markers in version 2.0 and did not catch it until earlier this morning. I will be uploading the file to EA mods later on this evening. Again i apologize for those that experienced a slow down when running my textures.

THose look great Mykal!  I'll give them a shot, but this time I'll remember to BACK UP my base files! ;)

And no need to apologize Flamamarshall. It was totally my own fault. Your readme file explicitly says back up before overwriting the existing files. My bad. Hopefully I will upgrade my hardware one of these days and use the textures you created. They really do look great.

No need to apoliges brother, we can actually still use your grass textures
just a case of drop the bit rate, thats simple enough
plus its our fault for having crappy PC's..........not yours
we'll just have to dig deep and get spending, hahahahahaha

Later, Mykal

Very good Mykal. Those are very nice. I didn't know having a gaming computer with MaxFB would ever help, but I guess it does.

Yep it makes a differance to have a decent PC
in truth, I dont have to many problems with mine
so far I've only found the spike bowl that I absolutely can not use (aaaarrrgghhh, such a great stadia too)
other than that though everythings ok,
I just never have player shadows on that way I keep decent speed & graphics.

The Spike Bowl is one of my favs. I am playing with Local8hs Arena Puma and that is really cool. I forgot to mention you did a very good job with your hash marks. How did you get them like that?

Mykal,

I think what slows the Spike Bowl down is the fans. i was playing with it and i remove the fans mesh in the Stadiumdata.txt line MESH:fans.x:1:0
It made it smoother, but no fans

Easy................
I've been using paint shop (or Corel as its known now) like forever
I just mapped over the original hask marks and lines from the grass texture that came with the game
onto the new grass textures I selected, then tubed out the old grass (leaving the lines behind)
then added a grass texture map to the lines and hash marks to give them a "painted on" look on the new grass.

Thank you both, gentlemen, for the fantastic grass textures - well done!

Just so you feel perhaps a little better, Mykal, I have more of a gaming rig (pretty much have to to run flight simulations decently) but it doesn't like the lower tech shader model (sm 1.0, I think) that the game uses so I can't run the game in high detail with a snow or mud field without flashing field texturing (this with a Radeon x1950Pro) and have to play on normal detail then...feel a little better?

I use this, found the texture online. Although it will likely change before the day is out. I cant help myself with the editing and tinkering.

Oh, I like that too Gary!

I haven't looked into it yet, but is it possible to assign different field textures to different stadiums? That may be a nice little feature to have.

I meant to ask for that in my last post. I was thinking about the difference in the NFL grass and some local high school or Boise St. "Smurf Turf" I don't think we can though.

Nope, dont think ya can do that
you only get to choose grass or turf - one grass type and one turf type, thats it

No, the stadiums just use either the turf or grass, whatever the home teams stadium calls for.

Just got to try out the grass textures.  It's AMAZING what a big difference such a small change makes to the look of the game.  They even show up in the PDS screen!  Thanks again to all for contributing these textures.

Mykal is there any way to make the field have two colored textures of grass?

This is a screenshot of my last update to my grass textures for Maximum Football.I have taken into account all of the feedback and suggestions that I have received thus far and I also cleaned up the .bmp files so that they look proper in the game as they should.I hope you all enjoy and I am looking forward to the upcoming mod for Maximum Football. I hope that these textures can be put to good use for the upcoming mod.Thank you all who helped me with feedback and suggestions.

Teams in my solo league play on grass only. However, I place a dark shade of grass in the grass file and a lighter shade in the turf file. Then, when I want teams to have a light shade of grass I check 'turf.' If I want them to have the draker shade I uncheck it.

So, when is someone going to make smurf turf, and the striped turf of Oregon's Autzen Stadium?  j/k

Is there a way to add options to the turf beyond the two choices originally offered, or are turf changes universal?  I don't have any programming insight.

Someone already created the blue turf. It's the Boise State uniforms, but the turf is included:
