In Witp if you change the Squadron Commander the name of the commander will change Ok, However if you then check the pilots list you can still find the old Commander listed and no mention of the new commander! Is this being looked at and put right for WITP and AE?

The cause of this is that the pilots and leaders are governed by two separate files. Pop open the editor and you'll see what I mean. So fx Jimmy Thach exists as both a pilot in slot 2676 and a leader in slot 14419. When you select a new leader and he doesn't appear as a pilot also, this is because that leader doesn't exist in the pilot file. That we can do something about though I'll admit it's not at the top of the list of priorities ATM (the AI is). We currrently have no means of removing the old commander if he also exists as a pilot upon the assignment of a new CO, sorry.

...and this belongs in the Air thread, btw

In WITP there is a way for the old CO to be removed from the pilot list - him to be KIA . I wish that it'd be more like BTR including seeing who's promoted & all though. I've seen sometimes though that when you do have a leader who's in both places that when he's KIA that both do get removed but it's very rare for it to occur so not sure of what "die roll" causes this event to happen  but will assume the same event will happen in both WITP & AE when it comes out.

Can leaders be added in the database?  I couldn't add one in CHS {tried to add my father-in-law}.  Looks like a slot limit of 20,000.

There's an additional 9999 leader slots. How many fathers-in-law have you got?

Thanks Tim.  I only have the one.  He passed away last year.  So, I've been adding him to games I play.  He was  a B-25 pilot on his way to Australia when the war ended.

Tim.

I added what info I have on Andy to the Named Pilot List.  I do not know what unit he was with or if he was with one when the war ended.

Thanks
Steve
