after a month of creating plays from scratch, and making the very detailed profiles....v3.2 it's out.

v3.2
+2 new coaches
+coaches now have their own formations, and plays
+various new OFF and DEF formations
+plays are named after the coaches instead of teams (so if you change coaches)
+motion added
+minor improvements to Punts, PR, and KR
+defensive zone plays were adjusted to help hide the zone vs. m2m coverage (minor improvement)
+fixed the PA QB drop issue that i had before. The QB will "Drop to Point" instead of "Move to Point" after "Fake handoff"

new coaches...

Coach Wilson:
The offensive is centered around the QB. The QB will run the ball, and will throw deep when needed. Running plays use multiple lead blockers.

Defensive strategy is based around stopping the run.

Formations:
Wishbone Normal
Wishbone Wide
Power T Wide
Strong I Twin TE
Shotgun 2 HB
Maryland I

Coach Smith:
Balanced Offensive play. Utilizes 2 WRs, a TE, 1 RB, and 1 FB. Running plays uses a fair amount of traps.

Defensive strategy is to stop the pass.

Formations:
I Form Normal
Strong I Normal
Weak I Normal
Pro Form Normal
Shotgun4 Wide
I-2TE/1WR Tight

hope you find these useful

+++++
i figured out that i need to edit some of the profiles because the AI does not select the pass:run ration that it is supposed to. i usually put either all pass or running plays in one group, and have the AI figure it out the rest (like i have been told that it is supposed to do). the AI does select the plays, but the pass:run % does not go with the correct %. i am going to put all plays into each group for ANY ANY plays. that might help the issue. other than that, putting 20ing plays into 100 groups takes way too much time.

Initial thoughts thus far on the latest release:

- I am really digging the Coach Smith playbook - nice incorporation of a 33 Nickel set and a 34 Pressure/Solid/Goalline set on defense, and lots of I form plays (which I am very partial to). I will probably borrow heavily from this playbook when setting up my custom league. With all the great playbooks and mods currently available, I am just waiting on the last patch to finally start my season play.

- I can't stress enough how much I like the I form sets in the Smith playbook - nice work on both the run and pass plays.

- Play action looks very smooth, very little wasted motion.

- 34 blitzes nicely done, as is the lineman twists and stunts here and there.

- Players in motion are also done well - especially in the Wilson playbook, where there are many run-heavy sets where an extra blocker in the right place is crucial.

- Wilson's offensive playbook seems like it could benefit from a few more midrange passing plays (for the 10-15 yards to go situations). Both I and the CPU struggled to find effective plays in these situations with the Wilson book given its overall conservative slant. Maybe add a play or two to the 2WR/2RB Shotgun set with a few deeper routes? That would probably make it ideal, imo.

Keep up the good work as always and Thanks again to you and all of the play designers willing to share their hard work on FBMax.

Gave your books a try and I love them, Hack. Solid job. Gotta agree with the comments on the Smith playbook as it is quite balanced.

These are good enough for me to move ahead with my solo season and add more playbooks as you release them.

Thanks.

Hack,

These results are with v2 playbooks.
I have run 3 games in a 12 man NFL style league. 1 Miller team, 1 Brown, 4 in my Pro Flexbone, 3 in a run oriented 1 back set, and 3 in a pass oriented 1 back set.

I have run them through my league stat and playbook analyzer.

I have attached a txt file with the summary.

You will notice a few things:
Miller offense:
Solid passing game, but without some backfield pass protection its vulnerable to sacks. It has almost no rushing game.

Brown offense:
Passing game is short and ineffective. Rushing game is not bad but not as strong as it could be.

I have played a few more games and the Brown offense has gotten much better in both passing and rushing. The Miller team though passing well is only 1-5.

I think being so one sided both teams suffer a bit but with a little tweaking they would produce similar results as my playbooks. I will soon upload them to FBmax.com

it's true.  3 of the 4 teams that i have put onto fbmax are designed to be one sided.

the next several coaching profiles are much more balanced (either pass balanced, run balanced, or just balanced).

hopefully, with the additional adjustments that i have made, it will balance things out.
