Guy's,

I would like to see a civil war game based on Yaquinto's old Ironclads. I was made for computer with all the dice rolls you had to do. I think it would be very popular and people would mod it to death.

Thanks

The modeling on that game looks fantastic, it's something I'll be keeping my eye on in the future, thanks. I'd still like to see one of the geniuses at Matrix do something based on Yaquinta's Ironclads.

That is a sexy looking game...but surely a Civil War naval game has limited playability??

Actually, Ironclads was really a lot of fun. Much more to it than you would think.

It looks interesting. I wonder what are going it's system requirements to be.

Ironclads was a great game, just too many dice rolls if you had much more than a couple of ships. The best games were with the little gunboats. You ploted your turns then fired, roll to hit, on a range chart, roll to where you hit, roll for penatration or damage, roll for penatration damage, roll for critical hits and then roll for critical hit damage. Like I said made for computer, you would get carpal tunnel in one afternoon.

Not quite an ironclad, but I'm reading an interesting book right now on the CSS Shenandoah that I'll recommend here.   Last Flag Down by John Baldwin and Ron Powers.  2007.  Lots of detail about life on the ship.  If you don't know, Shenandoah was a sail/steam commerce raider, rather like CSS Alabama, that was the last Confederate belligerent to strike her flag, after circumnavigating the globe in 1864-65.
