Hi

How come the Allies are not able to use sea transport for all their units adjacent to a port? I'm playing the Allies for the first time and I was able to send a couple of British corps over to France right away. Since then, nothing else can load up on a transport, even though they are next to a port. I have plenty of industry points.

Thanks

John

Are they next to the port hex, or next to the city hex? Only one unit per tunr can generally load up by design to prevent massive invasions from a single port in one go. The idea is you either have to stagger the loading or have access to multiple ports. If you can post a screenshot it might help.

I've been moving them to every hex that is adjacent to the port, and each following turn when I click on that unit the icon to load on a transport remains subdued. I've been trying to do this with units in Canada as well as England, North Africa, Syria, etc. I was able to load and unload two British corps to France... but then nothing after that. And it is already 1941!

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Are you trying to load Corps, or Garrison units. You can't move Garrison units by sea. Iain, I find I can load up every Corps, armour, etc that is adjacent to the port (anchor) hex.

Ahh, sorry - there was a recent change in a patch to prevent garrisons being shipped from Africa back to France in an ahistorical way, so that could be the issue. Sorry. The loading rules changed from first release and I have not played as much since then - no time!

Yes, that was the problem. All those units that would not load were Garrison. Problem solved! Thanks.
