Anyone use anything other than the 24 lb. Howitzer? (12 lb. at first maybe?)

I was not impressed with the Parrot or the Ordnance Rifles.

I use the napoleon, a good all rounder. some of the ordinance rifles are useful for fort smashing too. yes most of the time my stock guns are the 12 and 24 lb howitzer

Odd, I always got rid of those as soon as I could, if I remember correctly, those have massive pointblank damage, but lousy afterward, and I tend to like long range shelling

when I could, I went after the Withworth, it does not do the damage of others, but it breaks morale

the stats on the Nap, show it should be as good as the rest, but I just never had much luck with it

Prefer long range artillery as well. The howitzer's advantage is the indirect fire damage upgrade, which unfortunately has no impact on non-howitzer arty

I hardly get to use artillery unless its a range of 6 hexes or less and I find the howitzers do more damage than the rifles guns, even at those ranges.

Napoleons work okay, too.

As soon as I get the indirect fire upgrade I only use Napoleons, pre indirect fire, only howitzers. No way I will leave my arty units in the front line!

The ordonance rifle is amazing to "snipe" against incoming troops in column formation.
