Howdy :)

I speak for Lost Victories:

When T-26m33 shows up as a T-34 it is problem that can't be ignored. This accident happened because we tought that it was mistake. Now it seems that it is not and T-26 m33 has changed place in OOBs with something else and T-34 has came to its position. We couldn't do much as problem came up in last days of patching nodes. Fortunately T-26 m33 is rare piece and used seldom. But it is used in some scenarios. Only way to fix problem is that I'll go thru all scenarios and check if there are these oddball -tanks, and when found I'll change it to something else. (I can use also T-26m33 as it is in OOBs, but in differend place, but.. I am mean man... ;) )

As situation is what it is I'll do this in few days and, - IF, it is not much I'll attach it already tomorrow into gmenfans great stickers. This is what I think will happen... thumbs up ;)

so, If you have something else very, very *must*to*fix* in lots of scenarios, tell it now into topic :

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17173

You got time about 12 hours.

mosh :D

I ended up doing the 'change Soviet to human player' for one turn, unloaded the 'T-26' crews from their tanks and massacred them with their own KV-2s. I even had a turn advancing all the Russians AI-style...

I hate to do it that way... I feel so dirty... but those 10 or more T-34s were unbalancing the scenario... now I have finished I think I could have beaten them without cheating since the Russian tank crews are easy to rout.

I finished the scenario with a moderate victory, but I think a DV would have been easy if not for those T26/T34s.

Yes... lets see a Winter War scenario with brave Finns fighting against T-26s... only to find that they are not what they seem....

I don't know what node I am up to (the game is at home) - it is a battle using the same map as the first Radziechow (sp?) battle, I now have a bunch of 88mm guns and 8 Stukas...

Can you apply a scenario change after the scenario has been started? What I mean is; is the information for the scenario wholly contained within the savegame? Or can you change a scenario in progress by simply changing the scenario data file?

If that's the correct battle... you might as well send it to me - pg2campaigns@wargamer.com or steve@magnecor.com

I got the T-34 horde in my first battle in Radziechow! I had started the campaign with two Decisive Victories, so I guess we progressed in a different way. I didn't get the option of purchasing Flak-18's (8.8 cm). The sad thing is I beat the Soviets anyway without cheating though it took every trick I have in my sleeve... only to find out on turn 15 (the last one) that the game crashes to desktop thanks to Windoze adjusting to dayligth saving time. I have to play it all over again. If the T-34's could be patched to oblivion before I try it again, I would appreciate it very much.

+++ Edit: I couldn't find the node number on the map, but the name of the mission where the camo-T34's company shows up is Reconnaisance to Radziechow

I don't doubt Windows could crash because of it - but is Finland on a different time schedule? Daylight savings reverts on April 7 in this part of the world - always the first Sunday in April.

I think daylight savings starts on the last Sunday of March in many places...

During the 7.1beta development I pointed out again and again that the T-34 was unnecessary for obvious reasons (look at the number of models available!).

It has long been known that this unit would screw compatibility with Lost Victories, but nothing has been done.

Anyway, nothing was done and some scenarios are screwed. Actually I thought only the T-34 graphics were wrong - please check if the unit stats are actually those of the T-34 if you didn't before.

(I expect you did, but one can never know)

ok, I've gone thru first 20 nodes and found this in four scenarios. It is not much. I'll continue and post attahcment later today to get wider area covered.

And No, once started scenario has data in save -file.

in LV team this appeared few days before patch1# was released, and even then I thought that it was problem in one node that were fixed. (Designer of it had used alot uncommon stuff..) anyway, **** is in pants andits cold already.

I haven't found anymore these hybrids, so I'll post those 4 scens tonight.

That would be splendid, thanks! I've got a day off tomorrow and I was hoping to make some progress in MCLV.

Let me get one thing straight, because I might have misunderstood it: you said the scenario data is in a savegame file once I've started the scenario. Does this mean patching a scenario will not remove the T-34's from my current mission, because I'm on Turn 1 in Reconnaisance to Radziechow right now? Are the T-34's in the savegame I have and they can't be patched out from this mission now? If so, this would be one more reason to have an ordinary Save button in the game.

Svennemir: the unit stats look awful lot like a T-34, it's not just the graphics. Of course I'm not familiar with this version of the good ol' Vickers tank, but the thing has got 7 cm of armour if my memory serves me. I kept pounding them from behind and from the sides until they were immobilised, lost their main gun, their optics or the crew chickened. But I couldn't penetrate the armour with anything I was issued. I haven't had this much trouble from a T-26 before.

Then those units actually had T-34 stats.

Sometimes units retain their original stats even though a new OOB is used - perhaps this happens if the units were customized during scenario creation.

The offending T-34 can be found on the first page of Soviet encyclopaedia among its fellow T-26'es... did I just say "fellow"?

And yes, this has been known for a long time before 7.1 was finished :/ .

With due appreciation to the speed with which the fixes have been completed...

So after 3 DVs I have to start AGAIN? I've crossed the San river more times than I care to count, and it's getting **** tedious.

No my friends, you don't have to start over whole campaign. Just add fixes in LV-folder and continue if you have started campaign with Patch1# installed.

If you exit/save in last turns of battle 3, and you get fixed battle 4, you can play fixed battle 4 when you've finished battle 3. Only battle that is going on will not be updated because it is in savegame file. BUT if you update battle (for example) 3, it will be updated into your LV-folder (even if you have savegame from battle 3). Updated battle 3 is in use next time you start battle 3.

Ok ? Got it? ;)

Patch1# has everything for you to make thru this campaign in many differend ways. Updates to come are Not forcing you to start over campaign that is started after patch1# is installed.

Ok ?

Stay cool, I start thinking of making all scenarios harder as you guys have only victories. Who is man enough to say he has lost everything and started campaign again because he was killed? :D You ain't seen nothing yet... :D

and first battle? I have played first 4 so many times I don't remember how many, I have also played into node21 and forced to start over because mech had problems and OOBs needed to get checked. I've played this MC alot, most of its battles, but not in LV-campaign, but as individuals to see possible design errors. And then we had splash damage changed, and infantry battle rules, and cost of the units, and calculation of victory points changed... list goes on.... but I don't complain, - this is ugly looking monster that has soul of its own. And it will someday grow up enough to be left alone ;)

Is there any other way we could get them? If you are going to send them to people over email, please add me to the list tuomas.seijavuori@kolumbus.fi . I'm only waiting for this fix to continue playing. Too bad it won't help me in the current battle. Thanks in advance!

We have purchased one of those "auto update" deasl and will be using it to distribute future LV updates. I think the way it will work is the menu screen will have an 'update" button. When you press it the program will go to our ftp and check for updates and install them. That way you won't have to screw around with nested directories or missing spaces...

We don't know when exactly it will be ready, but likely in the next few weeks. Uncommon valor and all future games will be using it as well.

It will all become available when the next official LV patch is ready to be downloaded from the MatrixGames site. All temporary fixes have been stopped until it's all completed.
