I installed on my new computer (with windows vista home premium) WITP (updated with patch 1.806). I open the programme but, after one or two turns of game, when I go to see, for example, the airplanes of a carrier TF (or the planes in a base), after a few planes the game crashes. It doesn't happen in the same way every time.
Here is the report of the crash:

Nome evento problema: APPCRASH

My computer is an Intel Core 2 Duo, 4gb RAM, 512K Memory video
Anyone knows what can be the problem?
Thank you.

Have you tried re-installing the game?
What was your install procedure?
Original 1.21 then 1.804 comp and then 1.806 patch?

Crash to desktop, i assume...

The most common cause of this (during a replay, esp.) is defective art files - i.e. - a missing or defective plane art file could do this. If you've messed with the art at all, this could be your problem.

Consider reloading the art files, or if need be - the game itself.

If you reload the game, do an UNINSTALL first.

I tried to re-install the game three times;the first two times it happened with CHS already installed. The third time (now) it happens after installing only the original + patches 1.804 and 1.806.
Maybe the problem is in the memory card?

Yes, it crashes to the desktop.
I thought about a problem with the art files. I already re-installed the game 3 times. Now I will try to install again the art files (using the one that I had on my old computer (with windows XP) and that haven't given me any problem in the past.
Could not be a problem of memory card?

Well, possibly, but other things should alert you to hardware problems. It could be a problem with Windows... another person recently described a similar problem (game would start crashing after installing the latest patches), and finally he reinstalled Windows and everything was fine.

When you reinstalled WITP, did you deinstall first?

No, normally the default is in the Matrix Games folder...

I solved the problem!!!
Looking on internet I found that the problem came from the file mmswitch.ax. This file is filter Direct show that can interfer with media Player.
I unistalled it.
This is what I made (if it can interest someone else):
I found the position of the file (C:/windows/System32) then I went to accessories, run, right click and run as aministrator.
Then in the command prompt I wrote: regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\ System32\Mmswitch.ax
After restarting the computer, the file has been unistalled and witp works!!!!
Thank you for your help. I hope that it can help also someone else.
