Or, if it's just war films from all eras:

Zulu
Full Metal Jacket
Platoon
The Dambusters
Battle of Britain
Das Boot
Dr Strangelove
Aces High
The Hunt For Red October
Sharpe series (Not really films, but good anyway)

Forum software is acting wonky again - logged me out twice in 2 minutes...

This has happened to me in the past, but I haven't had trouble lately, *knocks on Nik's head*. Did you upgrade to the new release of Firefox?

I got assimilated. Resistance is futile!

I never was much of a fan of this star trk series.

Although, I think I may have to nominate Stargate as the best sci-fi series ever.

Kelly's Hero's was very good. I was going for more serious.

Saving Private Ryan was too graphic for me (yes I know it was very real). I watched it once but I will probably not watch it again.

Dam Busters was a very good film also and since I would watch it again, I would remove Private Ryan and put this one in.

I agree. I don't really ever want to see that movie again.

Another film I like, mainly for the scenes with the De Haviland Mosquito is 633 Squadron. The story line is a little hokey though. Definitely not a top ten.

Stalingrad would be number one on my list
The Thin Red Line would be second, I just love it.
Das Boot number 3
and last but not least A Bridge too Far
First four places

Never mind the story line, war films don't have to make a lot of sense. The acting is of a similar texture to the Mosquitos IMO...

Battle of Britain has nostalgic memories for me, it's one of the first films I can remember seeing It's got everything, action, suspense and some nice little comic moments
The Dambusters is awesome, all those Lancaters And for me, it sums up the British spirit quite nicely. Not to mention the local connection, they flew from a base just outside the city I grew up in.

Yeah it was good for that reason. Dam Busters was a very good film and had a good story line.

THere was another film with a lot of Lancasters in it. I can't remember the name but it had Dirk Bogarde as a master bomber.

Saving Private Ryan is a great film, I watch it plenty of times and always tear up during scenes of him at the cemetary.
Don't forget Midway! in your top war film list.
and who can forget Attack Force Z!!!
