Happy hour. Y'all have a great weekend.

Some have happy hour, some are being dragged out to jog by their GFUs with vague promises of a massage afterwards. Have one for me.

Good Thread... One TV channel is showing Wayne's World 2 and another is running the pilot of Twin Peaks. Decisions, decisions...

Quite! I saw it in school in the early 70s. I think we had an almost identical movie for tornadoes.

I've seen neither...but I'd probably go with twin peaks...I mean really, with a name like that how can you go wrong.

Slowly but surely I'm getting back to 10K.  Then I'll only need about 3800 more to get back to my old count.

Er, you do remember Twin Peaks, right?

Well, I remember that there was a TV show called that. I never watched it.

NARRATOR: "Notice how Tony isn't moving?"

Gee, i rather doubt he'll be doing much of that anymore...

It's probably the strangest TV show ever made. I remember trying to make sense of 16 years ago when it rolled across my TV screen the first time. I was in high school then...

That sounds about right. I think i was in college. I heard it was weird.

Seems like a good time to start a list of best all time TV shows
1. Stargate
2. Northern Exposure
3. Magnum PI
4. STNG
5. Bob Newhart (the old one).

Anyway, off to the gym for an hour.

I wrote for my high school newspaper at the time, and we had a regular column called "Twin Freaks"...

Anyhoo, just to increase the weirdoisity factor, yet another TV channel has just started showing Easy Rider...

0 for 5. Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle shot the breeze one time about what you should call going 0 for 4 in a baseball game. Roger said, "Well, in hockey, they call three goals a hat trick." The Mick shot back, "Maybe we should call 0 for 4 the 'Golden Sombrero.'"

0 for 5? How about the "Diamond Diadem"?

I'd suggest a "top 5" list, but I can't think of even one TV series to include. I guess that's what happens when you make a decision relatively early in life not to watch TV for your entertainment.

My top 5 would be.

1. Twighlight Zone (original series)
2. Simpsons
3. MASH
4. Babylon 5
5. Monty Python's Flying Circus

Not watching TV is a wise choice. Unless your passing up one of those five shows.

5. Baywatch

I had a girlfriend once whose favorite TV show was syndicated reruns of Baywatch. I'd go over to her place, we'd get all cozy in her bed after the news, and she'd fire up this local cable channel that was showing Baywatch episodes.

She'd get all wound up and squirmy, and we'd get busy for hours on end. It was pretty good, so I hated to complain, but...

One morning, after we'd gotten an hour or two of sleep, I asked her what she liked so much about Baywatch. She said, "Don't you think the chicks are hot?"

What could I do? I asked, "Do you?"

She said, "Yeah, I wish I could be with one of them." "Is that what you're thinkin' when we're doin' it?" I asked, in my obviously naive way. "Yeah," she said. "I see Pam, and I just gotta have it."

Needless to say, this relationship didn't last a lot longer.
