My point is that Hedgehog fired 24 bombs and Mousetrap 4 or 8 (depending on version), while the Jap weapon fired 1 bomb. Surely, there should be a chance for multiple hits by Hedgehog/Mousetrap, which we can't have since they are only considered to have 1 "barrel" in the game.

iirc, they were set up pretty much to produce ONE hit, but spaced the shells far enough apart so that multiple hits were unlikely.

Hm.

Of course, i haven't read about them lately... maybe i'm wrong... but i seem to remember the reasoning went something like: "One hit will breach the pressure hull - and that's all we need, so space the shells so that the chances of producing ONE hit is maximized."

Sounds familiar... Problem is, of course, that in WitP, one Hedgehog bomb won't sink a sub.

Well, the whole thing is idealized... one hedgehog hit on a sub a shallow depth wouldn't probably kill it, but it would be forced to the surface where guns, etc. would do the rest. But this doesn't happen in WITP either... don't know if AE is going to change the model THAT drastically, but i doubt that it will.

Now that's not fair. I would have gotten it free and clear, but of course, I have to read this lot first. You know, check on you implant recipients before I get out and interact with the standard humans.
