I know this has been covered before, and for that I apologize... I think I remember someone saying1 hex is about the size of a football field? I prefer land mark comparisons to feet/miles... so if anyone can help me:

1) How long in real life is a turn?

2) How big is 1 hex supposed to be?

thanks!

A turn is 2-5 minutes.

A hex is 50 yards.

Its still VERY funny. For everyone else, I am refering to FJ's reply in laurentsx's post "1st post:Hi Everybody" on 3-26-2002.

Belisarius,

I believe there is a way to convert yards to meters to hexes in the scale/ranges. Maybe the '@' key? Anybody remember? Anyways, that makes FJ right or wrong depending on what his is set at...;)

The game was developed in America so I assumed it was yards.

Besides the difference between 50 yards and 50 meters is only about 2-4 feet isnt it?

Hi:

There's a very interesting "article" at another forum, the SP:WW2 forum that discusses the "true" size of each hex. Apparently the author believes that the game was originally designed for 25 yards/hex, but it was later partially changed to 50 yards per hex. Interesting stuff.

Anyway, there's the forum's link:

I believe that you can find that "article" in the "Files" section.

As for the time per turn, doesn't SP:WAW allow you to modify the amount of minutes per turn?
