I wish that after submitting a bad turn you could toggle a disregard button .

Good idea. Should be a suggestion for AE.

Well, I've started brainstorming the AE Disregard mod. One change will be the new I Don't Care 14 torpedo. Modeled on the American Mark 14 torpedo it solves the dud problem by not loading any warhead. This way all excitement caused by a sub attack on IJN ships in 1942 can be disregarded.

Of great interest to Allied players might be the "Sidelong Glance" Japanese torpedo mod, which causes Type 93 torpedoes to streak past your ships instead of hitting them, giving you an arch look like Bogie ogling Bacall on the way by.

There's also the "Warmi Fuzzi" mod, which causes Japanese suicide pilots to fly up close to their targets, land, then jump out, run up to the nearest Allied sailor, soldier, or marine and give him a hug...

That would be a good mod to the special 'Disregard' scenario, which for some strange reason never passes beyond turn one ...

I'm surprised no one has started the "anti-disregard" thread yet. It's about time, don't you think...

Good idea. In Vietnam, we had "de-escalation." In Iraq, they're having a "surge drawdown."

What the world needs is more redundant prefixing. Let's turn the matter over to the Department of Redundancy Department for workup of further study and development of projected contingency outcomes...

Why bother? What is there to regard?

I disregard your notion

I agree, and to re-emphasize the priority of the post-workup study we should intiate a comprehensive oversight supervisory committee to implement conclusions of the Department of Redundancy Department.

It isn't easy for native speakers either! But you're trying to regard, so keep at it!

I'm not sure if I regard them. That's what I'm trying to do - figure it out if I should or shouldn't ...

Yes, there are rules, but nobody knows them. Kinda like Ringo Starr's drumming it can be unpredictable.

Easy on that sauce, Sir.

But seriously, folks. Back in the days when it was my privilege to work for a living (ugh), some of us holier-than-thou types would get seriously cranked off at the crap language upper management and their lackeys would use in order to make themselves sound important and serve as a substitute for actual thought and communication.

One day, we ran across a Web site (I think it's still there) that posted Bingo cards that had business world B.S. words and phrases in the cells instead of numbers. What you did was print some out (every time you refreshed the page, you got a different card), distribute them to your cronies, and take them to your next meeting. Then, you crossed off the entries that you heard the morons running the thing used, until you had five in a row, at which time, you jumped up out of your chair and yelled, "Bullsh1t" the same way old ladies in Bingo parlors do when they've got a winning card.

My pal James bet me 10 bucks I wouldn't do it, but, as I am sure you can imagine, there's not a lot I wouldn't have done in those days for 10 bucks. I guess this may have something to do with the fact that, when the company decided they had to cut back on payroll, my name was at the top of the layoff list.

Hi-ho. Here's a sample card:

Nah. They're all lurkin'. I can smell 'em.

I only seem to find time for this silliness in what are my evening hours (early morning for the inhabitants of the Great Republic across the big pond), so while y'all be gettin' jiggy wit' it, I be snoozin'.

Don't worry. I am sure that there will be serious disregardin' goin' on here for as long as there are a few of us bizarre, twisted personalities available to continue it.
