Funny.  My wife has a ball cap from the Provo (Providenciales) Sailing Club, that she got on our last trip here, 3.5 years ago.     We're registered for an all day sailing and snorkling trip on Tuesday.

I like your sig banner, Martin.

Cheers mate

I do have white soled deck shoes with me, but I have been wearing my flip flops since I got off the plane. For the rest, I have worn a bathing suit since I arrived, but I do have my USN issue neckerchief that I could add for flair.

We can only imagine (and hopefully not even that). Uss America wandering around the decks in deck shoes, speedos, sailing hat and neckerchief

Hi all,

Oh my...

Holed Qantas plane in emergency landing at Manila

MANILA (Reuters)

A Qantas Airways plane made an emergency landing in Manila on Friday after plunging thousands of feet and losing cabin pressure during a flight from Hong Kong to Melbourne.

Passengers reported hearing a loud bang before the aircraft rapidly lost altitude and said the Boeing 747-400 had a hole the size of a mini-van in its undercarriage when it landed in the Philippine capital.

It was an amazing experience, but not a good one," Glenyce Johnson, 47, told Reuters. "The aircraft plunged from around 40,000 feet to 25,000 feet."

Qantas confirmed the loss of cabin pressure and the rupture in the airplane's fuselage and said all 346 passengers and 19 crew disembarked safely. The aircraft was being inspected.

Johnson, who was traveling home to Australia, saw items flying out of the plane. Oxygen masks were released.

"I have to compliment the pilot for doing a good job, for safely landing the plane."

QF30 left Hong Kong at 9 a.m. (9 p.m. EDT on Thursday) and was due to land in Melbourne at 9:45 p.m. (7:45 a.m. Friday). The flight originated in London.

Post conch fritters and rum punch on the beach for dinner - Tithe.

I hope everyone is well.  I'm holding down the fort here in paradise.

If anyone has a Brother Mynok sighting, please let him know that I have connectivity down here, and have my laptop with me, but alas, I have no turn in my inbox.

Conch fritters eh? How are they?

Depends on where you get them. Conch can be a little chewy, like clams or calamari, or it can be very tender, from one place to another. It has a very delicious, mild flavor. Last night's dinner was at "The Conch Shack and Rum Bar". A local place, right on the beach. Absolutely fantastic!

Time to get ready for some lunch and shopping/browsing in some local shops.  I think we'll have a late afternoon snorkel outing today, and then grill some burgers to go with our wine and rum this evening.  Thread, I love being on "Island Time".

Later, Brothers.....

Dreadnought is up next for me. I borrowed Castles of Steel from the library, too. I only had to renew it twice.

The hole is also the size of a very mini mini-van   Interesting that there is a hole in the outer and inner skins of the aircraft.

Heeheehee. Reminds me of my old man. We were watching coverage of the first lunar landing on TV. He sat there staring at the screen and said, "They'll never make it. If God wanted man on the moon, he'd of borned him there."

One of the great realizations of my life has been that I am descended from a long line of arrogant nincompoops. It explains a lot...

Ick, X-Files is only getting a 31% fresh rating on rottentomatoes. I was hoping this would be a good film.
