Was just wondering if the Fantasy leagues are going to be cranked up this year. I have a need...to be thoroughly, completely average!

Hey Gem, I believe Arctic Blast is referring to the Matrix Forums fantasy football leagues that are set up on Yahoo.com every year.  There is a thread discussing it for the current baseball season up above this, in the sticky threads.  It's always a lot of fun!

I was robbed by nothing more than my awful, awful draft. My receivers were the only reason I won a single game.

Well, if nothing 'official' is coming down the pipe, I'd be interested, Mickey. Autodraft, or live draft for this league?

Of course, I am assuming that we are talking about the NFL and not European football.

Could you tell me what rules you will have in play? I just emailed Mickey about how much I would like to join, but that I think the defensive players thing is a bit much for me

Well, last year, Matrix had 3 leagues. One was an autodraft, one was a live draft, and one was a live draft with defensive players.

Anyway, consider me in, Mickey, and thanks for the invite. I've never done a league with defensive players before...should be interesting!

And I'll be hitting the Matrix leagues, as well. Good grief...I may actually overdose on FF this year...

The IDP add a little twist on the regular format. There is not as big of a drop off between lets say top guy to the 15th guy at LB as much as there is in QB's. your QB,RB's and WR's are still your bread and butter but if you have a couple of good IDP's you can get it toasted.

Be sure to draft a punter early, before all the good ones are gone!

Autodraft means you make a list of the players you want and when the draft is set to run, when it is your turn you are given the next available player on your list. You can simply accept he default ordering if you don't want to take the time to try to "game the system". By that I mean tinker with the order based on when you think guys are going to go (particularly in the later rounds) to get "sleepers" you want or not waste a potential pick on someone that the "experts" rank high - but you think will be a bust.

THis systme allows you some influence over who you get (or don't get), without requiring you to be onlne at a specific place and time.
