I tried this at tech support, but maybe this is the place to be...

In MNCA I suffer from the bizzare condition of having some units without any kind of leader.

They are both in PzKpfwIIIe-platoon G, which was not part of the resupply scenario ("Fighting all the way" I think it was called). In the following scenario ("An uneasy advance") units G0 and G1 have no leaders at all, and all leader stats are at 0.

These Panzers MIGHT have lost their leaders in the battle previous to the resupply scenario (I'm not sure, did not loose any crews alltogether but one or two did take losses).

What's really bizarre is that I can manually add new leaders by editing the save game file (by renaming the .sav file into a .dat file and running the editor) but upon restarting the MCNA, the abovementioned tanks are again without leaders.

I'm running MCNA v7.0 on a WIN XP machine.

Any ideas? Can I fix this myself in any way?

Unfortunately becuase of the updated SPWAW game engine, this has poped up with the original MegaCampaign. It's actually a bug in the core.dat file that causes this and unfortunatley there aren't any plans at this time to go back and redo that file. The program they offer is the only thing available that will temporarly cure this issue.

Yogi, My email to you was returned to me with a message saying that your in box was full! So I can't get it to you. Please check this and let me know!

RockinHarry, your email server said that the file I sent is to large for your email to accept. It's only about 1.7 Megs!

Please let me know what your situations are and I will try to send it again.

John

I am encountering a form of the lost leader problrm with MCLV, in that I have killed leaders retain their name, but lose their rank, apparently when KIA. I would appreciate a copy of the lost leader fix program from Anthony Utano, if someone could send it to me. I would appreciate it very much if John David or someone else........

Sometimes we are the last to know ;)

Is this a program that is supposed to resolve this problem? I know that early on in MCNA or MC-W we never had this problem in testing.

If it is not too much trouble, John, send it to me also. I'd like to get into this in more detail. I want both of the mega-campaigns (and Brent's) to be the best they can be for all gamers.

Thanks JDS and ML. I got the program and it looks very useful to do a quick attribute fix for units. Unfortunately, my problem is the rank status of a leader, rather than it's attributes. It would be very nice if Anthony could add a feature to change the rank attributes to this program, since I now have a rankless leader, who has evidently been killed, but still has retained all his past attributes and name. And a special thanks to Anthony for the program itself!

Thanks John.

Mike Lopes sent me the program too. The message was stored on the server, so I could get it after clearing my box. I did get the program, anyway. Apparently I must wipe messages sooner...

Thanks to everyone for helping with this.

Besides, the program does help restore the leader, but it does not give them a rank, not even private. It might not matter much, but I thought I ought to point this out...

I'm glad you got the program Yogi.

Yes, I noticed that the rank is missing, but the ratings that you change will help allot in the unit's overall effectivness!

Have fun

John

Hi all

Adding the ranks as an editing option - this depends
on where the ranks info is stored. If it is the .cam file then this change is simple, if it is the .dat file then I dont think it will be happening anytime soon.

If it is in the .cam file - If someone from matrix (or anyone else) knows the offset in the .cam file for the ranks infomation, we can have a fix real soon, otherwise I will have to dig around for a while and work and personal commintments make this a slower process.....
