I'm trying to decide which WW2 game I want to pick up next. I am looking at Panzer Command: Kharkov // WW2: Road to Victory // Theater of War // or ???????? Oh the decisions that must be made

On a personal note : Theatre of War = pretty pictures, zero substance (scripted scenario/opponent, own unit AI non-existing) and Panzer Command : Kharkov = somewhat less beautiful pictures but there's a serious wargame underneath. If the choice was just between those two, it would have been easy.

WW2-RTV : on my buy list but totally different from the 3D tactical games mentioned above.

I own all the games and I would say WW2: Road to Victory. Original CM is still better than both theater of war and PC:kharkov. Thats unlike WW2: Road to Victory which is one of my favorite grand strategies.

I would go with Panzer Command : Kharkov , it's a top notch game. Theatre of War crashed my PC. I haven't tried the other one but it doesn't interest me at all.

Regards,

Greg

Thanks for the replies.... I have narrowed it down between Panzer Command : Kharkov and WW2: Road to Victory.  I am leaning toward PC: Kharkov.... I'm going to read through the forums some more..... although both are for sure on my list.

PCK is a very good tactical wargame. It's simplier than Combat Mission, but that's not a defect, at least for me.
The community is doing a great work to improve the game, a map editor is in beta testing and is looking very good.
Highly recommended IMHO.

Theatre of War is only for a good machine. If you have low specs then go with PC:K.I would go with Theatre of War personally.

For eye candy and the odd "wow" moment, get ToW (but have a good machine and be prepared to be in charge of numpties)...for good tactical gaming, PC:K is a good bet.
