I had been using 1440x900 resolution in GoA with no problems, it was very nice. But since the patch, I cant seem to use any resolution larger than 1024x768. The problem seems to be with the vertical dimension (900) which now is much too large; the horizontal dimension of 1440 seems to work fine, just like it used to. Would be really nice to have this fixed. Thanks!

I think I have the same problem with using the 1280x800 dimension. The horizontal is okay, the vertical is too big.

Since 1.24 beta my 1680 x 1050 widescreen resolution does not work anymore. Currently I went back to 1280 x 1024. Could be a widescreen resulution error.

Cheers Hanno

Just a numbering problem, two 1024 by 600's, after that res if you select the one before the one you actually want it should work. Fixed now.

Frank, Help. My brain's in slow mo mode tonight.

Do you mean:
(1) Just pick the resolution before the one you actually want.

or

Do you mean:
(2) Just pick the resolution before the one you actually want but you'll have to re-download the 1.24 patch again

A new version of the patch should be up in a day or two but until then select the res one before the one you actually want.

Frank,

Brand spanking new to this game. Installed fine with 1.24 (downloaded 15 mintes ago) but no matter what resolution I choose it won't fit right on my 24" screen - when the horizontal fits right the vertical is too big. When the vertical fits the horizontal doesn't fill out. Don't want to get discouraged right from the get go - is this related to 1.24 or my computer? Should I go with 1.23 for now?

Bob, just pick the one closest to what you have. Some of the resolutions I had to do somewhat "blind" since my monitor won't go that high.

On things like the vertical, because I wanted the game to work well within the Windows environment I chose not to go with "full screen" and kept it windowed. I like having my toolbar visible etc

Frank,

To ask the question differently, am I to understand that regardless of what resolution I pick, the GOA screen will never quite fit my wide screen monitor? I just have to get "close"? Every wargame I've installed over the past several years has always automatically sized itself to my monitor (or with some very minor tweaking). As it stands, even with the hide toolbar function activated, the GOA screen vertical is still too large when the horizontal does actually fit my monitor. Because of the all of the positive reviews and comments regarding GOA I fully intend to learn it and play it; but fitting a game screen to the monitor it's being played on I would think would be some pretty basic stuff.

Bob

What's the resolution you're running?

Ah yes - I assume you mean my monitor's resolution? It was set at 1360 x 768. I went in to control panel and reset it to 1440 x 900 and guess what? The game fits 98% - I had a feeling, despite my email above, that I was probably the problem - my apologies. Now I can get down to playing the game!
