Alrighty then, in less than 1 hour my sorry butt is going to be in the hospital checking in for a triple bypass. Surgery starts at 730AM. Check-in time is 530AM. Hopefully i'll survive, but then i'm gonna have a loooooong relaxing time at home(was told i wont go back to work till January..type of job i have) . I'm going to be a crotchety old geezer when i come home so Matrix better get a few more games out there for me to buy to keep me sane.Or better yet, just give em to me...i'll be too poor since I wont be working....

Put some money in your sock. Might come in handy.

This is for when you get back on line. By the time this gets posted your surgery should be over and you should be well on your way to recovery. Maybe someone can get you a laptop and you can let us know how things are going. Like everyone else here, I hope your surgery goes well and you are up and at 'em soon. Good luck my friend.

Ugh...Got home 1 hr ago . The pain is horrible. Waiting for the wifey to bring the lortab home. While they were in there they said it was worst than the tests showed so i had an extra bypass thrown in. So 42 with a quadruple bypass. Let that be a lesson to you all! Now I get to do nothing for months( except recuperate)

The worst part is there are going to be so many games to buy in the upcoming months. Plus a few  that i really want that are out now. All that free time and no new games. Sniff...Well I could crack open my quarter bottle. Should have 200 or so in quarters in it. Hm.. meds or new games....I think Eagle Day.. wins

Glad you got back to us with your update. Well now your all cleaned up. In a few months you'll be running circles around the younger counterparts at work. Good to have you back.

Hang in there. Just noticed what this thread was about. I had a quad about 3 years ago and doing fine. So be careful. You probley will not completely heal for at least two years.

Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep Bleeeeeeeeeeeep

Just jokes, although that's what they did in the operation. Pretty amazing stuff. It's great what they can do with plumbing these days.

Just remember, in this situation drugs are your friend. Along with the normal advice about low fat diet with lots of fish and regular exercise I'll offer only this. The Italians have a saying, "Onions and garlic for the heart". It seems they go part way to explain the good heart-health of those who eat a Mediterranean diet. Hot chilli is beneficial too. And plenty of horizontal jogging, when you're feeling up to it

Cheers, Neilster

Glad to hear everything went well. Not great that you had to have extra work done but once they got you opened up might as well go for it all. Now that you've got new clean tubes, you can eat all the cheeseburgers and fries that you want. Don't forget the pizza and beer.

Seriously though, I'm glad to hear everything went well. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Apathetic Lurker,

I'm glad to hear that you are doing well! My father has been through this twice so I know how much pain and discomfort you must be going through.

A question from a fellow mid 40's guy...how did you know that you had issues? Were you exhibiting symptoms or did they catch things during a checkup?

Thanks and take care!

Bill

Now I'm beginning to worry. My doc seems to think statins are heaven sent and wants to put me on them. He gives me these lab slips for liver and diabetes. They sit around for months. The garage, the car, the desk at work. Finally last week I go and get the blood draw.

Doc called me this afternoon and wants a call back. He's never called me before.

Diabetes is no joke. If you have that you better do something about it.
