Just got a PM from RufusT asking whether or not the 1st turn has ended and what's going on. I sent out an end of turn report with the German turn 2 game file to everyone by email. Ccr, mavnb and TheArchduke definitely got theirs, but the short is, yes turn 1 is done. I'll re-send to you, RufusT, but please could you check you got the first one? Otherwise, British exil has kindly agreed to take over the whole German Army for our practice, so RufusT no longer has to fight with himself . A number of players are away until Sunday, so nothing will be happening until Sunday evening/Monday. He also noted that I've just quit a WaW game in which nobody kept the other players informed as to the game's progress and suggested a number of remedies for our game. 1. We ask reliable players to join our game rather than advertising on the forum. If anyone knows such players who want to join our game or the command pool, "bring them on." I asked one of the players RufusT (and I) regard as reliable the same with regard to starting a new WaW game. He replied he didn't know that many reliable players. I suspect the other suggestion is more realistic. 2. We should use PM to informthe other players of what is going on. It means, when someone has finished turn and has send file, it would be nice to leave a message here that the file is on the way to player X. So, the others know the game is running and player X knows he will get the file and can give a reply in case the mail has not been delivered. Otherwise he might wait for a file that had already been send and noone knows why we have to wait in vain for any further steps in the game. Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned, but I call this common courtesy/common sense. I never thought you'd have to stipulate this as an entry requirement, but I see all5n does in his Iron age games. So, yes. I vote all players are allowed to have a life. But when life takes players from the game, they inform the others. If they repeatedly don't, they are out of the game. Likwise, post in the thread when you've done your turn, please. Some of us sad geezers really look forward to our turn coming round again. and more than any other AT variant, this game is about communication.
