I received a turn from Mars as well - Tithe.

Replay and rack time.  Good night, my Brothers.

Hey Mike, how'd your FF team do? Which team are you?

Hey Chris, I had a good week. USS America is CV66. An "Alpha Strike" is a large attack package.....the pointy end of the big stick.

McNabb rocked the league with his 25 point performance and carried me to a week 1 victory. But, you know about McNabb already.

Yes, I've already hired Tanya Harding to put a hit on McNabb.

Another little something I've been working on. In preperation for EDtoBTR, I give you the 1940/1941 RAF defenders (except the Whirlwind and Beaufighter IC). Everything that could have reasonably taken part in the 1940 or 1941 campaign.

Woo!  England won!   4-1!    Croatia's first defeat at home!  Theo Walcott scored three!  I've been saying the lad's a good player   Why did we thrash Croatia, yet we struggled against Andorra?  Why couldn't we beat Croatia before the Euro tournament?

I don't know. Why can't the players just decide whether they're going to be good or mediocre and stick with it?

I have work to do and I can't get my secure VPN connection working from the rink.  Looks like I'll be working from the house later.

I also have a turn in my inbox, but my battery won't last more than another 30 minutes or so, and you know my AC adapter is at home.

Is it Monday?

Is Wednesday the new Monday?  Or just Monday in disguise?  What happened to Wednesday?  What will be the new Monday?  Tune in next week as USS America's life gets more complex....   Er, hang on, we don't know where the week starts now

The "end" of a battery's charge is a funny thing.  My percentage just went from 3 back up to 4.

Must have something to do with the Large Hadron Collider that went into action today... I still hope that tomorrow I'll have a day off because of some black hole, or worm hole, or whatever...

Maybe a black hole that swallows a worm hole? That would have to be worth at least a long weekend If a black hole was created then we could all give up working forever (not that it would be long...).

Or

It would end the need for landfills...

Martin - one simple explanation - overconfidence!

This is our (Croatian) biggest failure in almost everything... the players simply thought that the game is already won and that Eangland will loose (as two last times) - but they forgot that they now have Italian as manager and Italian never rushes - he plays safe with short passes (did you see any "English like over the half field" pass try in a game?) and waits for opportunity... I expected this outcome but didn't think that Italian would be able to coach the English so fast... now this is lethal combination... England always had most excellent players but their managers / coaches were usually bad (forger Sir Alex right now)... now with Italian grandmaster and excellent players everything can happen...

I told you and you didn't believe... Portual was overconfident (same as Croatia)... they simply thought that thay have Cristiano Ronaldo and all other teams would simly surrender...

Interesting theories there Leo.

The biggest factor seems to have been playing good players with actual pace on the wings, rather than an old bloke who can cross the ball but can't run with it, or beat his marker (I'm looking at you Mr Beckham...). Even Wayne Rooney played well.

BTW, S.A.F, is actually Scottish. There are good English managers out there, but a lot of the (IMO) better ones aren't given a chance these days. There is also the fact that international mangement needs a different set of skills to club management. One guy who could do well in the future is Stuart Pearce, currently managing the U-21 team. He still needs experience, but he reminds me a little of SLavan Bilic, in that he has plenty of passion.
