No problem. That's why it's good to use the DDs with the highest endurance with your CVs. The DDs with 4000 endurance or less, will force a refuel every 3 days or so. As Allies, look for DDs with 6000 endurance or more, and Cruisers with 8000 or more (10k better). As Japan, look for DDs with 5000 endurance or more (I don't know if there are any 6k DDs for Japan), and same rule for cruisers. If you're planning a specific use for a full speed dash, a. get to your jump off point a day early b. refuel at sea, and set to patrol your current hex at cruise speed (tops of your DDs before the sprint), and cruise minimizes fuel usage for your delay turn. c. Charge in to your destination at full speed the following turn. Now, you may already be a lower fuel state, in which case your sprint might not go off as planned, but your fuel state is ALWAYS important, esp in CV ops. Certainly running out of fuel is bad for so many reasons. But knowing whether -can- make a sprint (either to or away from battle), -will- be critical at some point. Also be advised that, for whatever reason, some captial ships (esp CVs and I think BB/BCs), will refuel other ships to the detriment of themselves. Meaning even when your CV dips below 4k fuel (if you're not coasting into port at this point, you in trouble), even at it's low fuel state, it will continue to refuel the DDs. What -that- means is that, your CV runs out of fuel even faster and then you're stuck paddling your way to port at 1 hex per turn. -F-
