Is there a place on the forum where we can make a suggestion for a new game based on an old Board game?

I have one that I'd like to recommend. It was called Pax Brittanica.

Here's a link to some info on it on the web.

AGEod is currently working on a Victorian game called "Vainglory of Nations" and I think I read somewhere that Pax Brittanica is one of their inspirations. You might want to check that one out.

A Stalingrad game. An operational one. The whole thing mind you...not piecemeal. I want Operation Uranus as well as Little Saturn.

Read the book, want to recreate it.

That reminds me, there MUST be something in the TOAWIII catalogue or kicking around for Stalingrad...the game mechanics fit it marvelously.

JD, you might want to check out this : A Stalingrad scenario for SSG's Battlefront game

<edit>
Just remembered : HPS got an operational level game on Stalingrad as well in their Panzer Campaigns series - totally old-skool boardgame style games though.

lol Eddie...I've only just talked myself into buying Kharkov DotD...I'm not buying Battlefront as well!

Besides, as good as that looks, it's PBEM only. Like most (all?) th 3rd party Battlefront scenarios.

Yes, you will, you know you will. You're a "new game" junkie and it's about time to admit that

Other operational level East Front games in the pipeline : Gary Grigsby's Russian Front and there's a rumour Prosimco is working on a WWII AATF engine with an Eastern Front game in the distant future.

Correct. I've been pestering AGEod about one because their engine is really tailored for it, but no dice (yet)

In terms of boardgames about the subject my favourite is still Marc McLaughlin's Holy Roman Empire. Grand strategic & fun

Crown of Roses is a GMT P500 game based on the Wars of the Roses. It looks good and is a successor to the Avalon Hill game Kingmaker.
http://www.gmtgames.com/p-234-crown-of-roses.aspx
Or Unhappy King Charles based on the English Civil War, a period of history that is much neglected in gaming terms.

I'm going to have to check that one out.

The computer version of Kingmaker gave me many hours of enjoyment back in the day.....

That was the best boardgame-to-pc conversion AH ever made.
