OK in this thread I am going to run a short AAR covering the Malayan campaign

It will be me versus the AI and I will play the allied side to try and show off the Japanese AI a little

We are still in devpt/testing so nothing remain 100% and I cannot promise to answer all questions that are raised but I will try

Anyway let us begin....

Settings are 1 Day turns historic difficulty

Loving the new icons too. Im assuming that the dashes on the size denote unit size, eg Rgt, btn, div and so on?

Runway hits look excessive.

Comments for first picture.

FOW options if any?

What's spotting all the Japanese Subs, air search or by movement of allied subs, seems odd that all of these subs are seen?

What's spotted the Japanes land unit(s) two hexes (80 km) north of Singora and the land unit(s) across the Gulf of Siam in Kompong Trach eight hexes (640 km) away?

Attack on clark field - Did some of the Zero's drop ordnance when they ran into enemy Cap, some have ordnance some don't?

Airfield Attack: 2 x 250 kg GP Bomb, 4 x 60 kg GP Bomb
4 x A6M2-21 Zero diving from 10000'
Airfield Attack: 1 plane(s) with no ordnance
Airfield Attack: 2 x 60 kg GP Bomb
4 x A6M2-21 Zero diving from 10000'
Airfield Attack: 2 x 60 kg GP Bomb
3 x A6M2-21 Zero diving from 10000'
Airfield Attack: 1 plane(s) with no ordnance

Sorry about that giant font .. I tried 6 thinking that is pretty small on my box ... but apparently Matrix Forum fonts sizes are scaled a bit ... like font=6 means font=40
:D
So we went with font=1 that seems to be read-able but won't take an hour to scroll through.

Yeah and don't ask what all those numbers mean!

Certainly gives us an idea of how the different values affect the running of the game.

quote:

Runway hits look excessive.

That is precisely what i noticed too.

This attack:

Airbase hits 20
Airbase supply hits 11
Runway hits 182

49 bombers x 4 250kg bombs= 196 so we have more hits than bombs. Maybe airbase hits are different but seems strange. But this is over 100% hits or almost 100% which is impossible.

If we see the other attacks it appear this hit level appear in low level attack.

Andy can you please explain the different functions of the Operations Mode please?
Thanks

"Combat" is self-explanatory, "Move" and "Strategic Move" means the unit is packed up and very vulnerable to ground attacks, but allows faster movement ("Strategic Move" means using railroads and is required for sea transport in other than Amphibious TF's).

"Reserve" holds the unit back from the front lines (but still in a frontal hex), ready for intervening in the fight, while "Rest/Training" is intended for rear area R&R.

All of my commander in Malaya need to be replaced but I have limited PP's so difficult choices need to be faced

Heath Bairstow Murray Lyon and Percival all need to go but thats a large investment of points (Gordon Bennet would be good to replace as well but I cannot afford it)

Loving the new icons too. Im assuming that the dashes on the size denote unit size, eg Rgt, btn, div and so on?
