Last year, I paid good money for this game (more than 40 euros). After trying it out I sent an email to customer support and asked for a refund. At the same time, Matrix acknowledged the problems and committed to fixing them. I believed Matrix, and kept the game.

I do not want to discuss the problems (many threads about that), suffice to say that, one year later, I barely played it (3 months into an MP game), hate it, can not play it (I bought it for MP) and am fed up with waiting for it to be fixed.

Summary I want my money back.

Matrix, will you (yes or no) send me back my money?

Any official answer from Matrix will do.

Did as you suggest....  I was hoping to get some answer from the Matrix guys involved with this forum since they are aware of the issues.

Loved EiA. Best strategy game. Played it so many years... Computer version %$%##@@@... Waited with hope.. Disappointed  ...

I'm sorry EIA has been a disappointment for you. Have you tried the latest v1.04 series yet? We are not offering refunds on EIA or generally on any games based on whether a customer enjoys a game or not, as a rule we only refund in instances where the game does not function on a system. We are however offering continuing support, improvements, reinvestment and further development in the game to continue to make it better.

Is there any particular aspect of MP that disappointed you the most? We are looking at some PBEM improvements for the next release and if there's something that would turn things around for you I'd like to make sure it's something we consider.

I am not one that wants a refund, but given that this game was 1) not at all ready for release and 2) Based on EiA but not Eia, I can see Baboune's point. Maybe matrix is worried the flood gates will open and a good % of customers will also want refunds? IMO, another good reason to look at what can be done, over time, to really make this game EiA after all.

Buyer beware.
For the game to move anywhere near a decent pace (which will complete the game in about 7 months) you have to have 7 dedicated players. I notice there's no indication of how long a game will take to play: is that marketing's choice or is it just a general oversight.
I was just reading one of the two reviews (the other doesn't actually exist) that is posted on the Matrix website. It claims that PBEM was in mind when they designed the game and that there are innovative solutions to keeping the game moving: turn skipping and player replacement. That's not innovation, that's a kluge. Innovation would be something like simultaneous phases.
Here's a question: why wasn't bidding incorporated directly and done sequentially? Then why does Reinforcement or Diplomacy have to be done that way? Yeah, I know what you're thinking "I have to know where all his forces are placed before I can place mine". In games that take a day per player phase, that would chop off on average 4 or 5 days. Diplomacy? I don't think there's anything in there that requires one player to go before or after another, the same with the Economic phase. The game is supposed to have a sophisticated system for allowing the player to set up for contingencies: why not a separate interface for the diplomatic phase where you can see how to deal with those situations rather than have some confusing tab buried in the game where you can change settings, and god forbid if you don't change them!
The only user input that is required during a battle are chit selection, guard commitment and multiple day decisions. Sending a game file back and forth so that you can decide which corps loses forces??? That's a horrible waste of time, as well as the inability of the game to process multiple battles! Sure, the outcome of one may assist in influencing the chit selection in the other... or you could have taken that away. It's not worth spending the extra couple of days while everyone else waits around.
No matter what you do to the game, it is likely not going to be ready to digest for the common gamer. Your clientele is fairly restricted. I would like to hear someone's opinion on why battles need to be resolved in an arbitrary order as dictated by the phasing player versus resolving all battles for the phasing player at the same time.

I could not agree more about having some phases run at the same time. Although many have argued against it, it seems the only way to get PBEM going faster. As for combat resolutions, considering possible reinforcements, gd committments and such, I am not sure how you can avoid going back and forth. Yes, in a few situations doing one battle may impact another later in the phase, but how often will that really be? IMO, it is not woh the extra time it takes.

You could use the PBEM quick combat option today if you do not want to deal with the file exchanges. Basically this give tactical control to the AI for the battle.

God, don't do this unless you don't care what happens to those units. The AI is GOD AWFUL!!!!

As far as playability, it seems like more and more bugs come up and they are simply not going away. The game is insanely buggy!!
