There is someone to help me (a very unskilled player) to conquer Norway?

I tried amphibyous operations. All krieg marine's ships support landings but royal navy won easily.

I tried with 2 airborn division but It's very diffucoult landing & conquer oslo in the same turn.
I think is too much exppensive buy the 3rd infantry division.....

Some ideas ???

Thanks to all

You need some luck. Drop your airborne next to Oslo to expose the garrison. Use air strikes to wipe out the unit. March in with your troops. You can then transport a Division to Oslo if you like and remove your paratroopers.

I think Oslo and Copenhagen should be placed in the Baltic zone.  Even to amphibious assault Copenhagen places the German fleet at the mercy of the Royal Navy, as it currently stands.

Also, the designers really ought to reconsider the whole issue of amphibious assault supply.

I agree for Copenhagen

I'm not sure is the right way for Oslo.
Historically allies sunk a lot of transport on the way to Norway, on the other hand German sent a lot of infantry
through sea .. ..

If you place Oslo in Baltic Sea, German Forgot the troubles about naval transport in Norway.

I think if you place Oslo in Baltic Sea is too simple for German but if you place where is it, it's too dangerous...

You can invade Denmark from the Baltic. You just need to find a hex to land in and walk into Copenhagen as it is not garrisioned. The hexes on the southeast part of the island can be landed in from the Baltic. I think Copenhagen itself must be invaded from the North Sea but there is no need to land directly in Copenhagen.

When it comes right down to it, is there any reason to invade either Denmark or Norway in this game?

Norway is pretty useless. You might take Denmark so the Allies don't bring them into the war on their side.

To get Denmark land south of Copenhagen - this is within the Baltic - and then stroll in - no one is defending. Norway is trickier - but it was...the kriegsmarine took a bit of a kicking.

Do not see any real reason to invade either Denmark or Norway, except to keep Denmark out of allied hands.

The money spent to do so and the energy does vs the reward does not validate the invasions.

Just my experience.

If the Swedish resources shipped through Narvik were added, and if air power were given some effect against ships, then Norway could become useful.

Exactly... it was a major point for Hitler in the Baltic - so there should be at least a moderately good reward for controlling Norway.

Norway is certainly useful to the Allies who crave her fleet.  This alone might give the Axis a reason to deny it to them.

When I play as the Allies I will always add Norway as soon as possible.

I was just reading in a Time-Life book on WWII that:

1) Germany got almost 50% of it's iron ore from Sweden;
2) It could only use Swedish ports to get that iron ore during a few months of ice-free waters;
3) it had to use Narvik, Norway, to transport the ore for the other months, since Narvik was generally ice free (Gulf Stream waters)

I agree that Oslo and Copenhagen should be in the Baltic Sea Zone. All of the Kriegsmarine losses to the Royal Navy occured along or off the Norweigan West coast. (The Blucher was sunk in Oslofjord by a 50 year old coastal defence battery bought from and istalled by Kruppwerks!)
The German targets for the Norweigan operation (quoting from Wikipedia:)
"Battlecruisers (or fast battleships) Scharnhorst and Gneisenau as distant cover, plus ten destroyers with 2,000 mountaineering troops under General Eduard Dietl to Narvik;
Heavy cruiser Admiral Hipper and four destroyers with 1,700 troops to Trondheim;
Light cruisers Köln and Königsberg, artillery training ship Bremse, transport Karl Peters, two torpedo boats and five motor torpedo boats with 1,900 troops to Bergen;
Light cruiser Karlsruhe, three torpedo boats, seven motor torpedo boats and mtb mothership (Schnellbootbegleitschiff) Tsingtau with 1,100 troops to Kristiansand[7];
Heavy cruiser Blücher, heavy cruiser (formerly pocket battleship) Lützow, light cruiser Emden, three torpedo boats and eight minesweepers with 2,000 troops to Oslo;
Four minesweepers with 150 troops to Egersund."
Placing Oslo and Copenhagen in the Baltic Sea Zone is a better simulation of the naval situation for Uperation Wesser. Germany could have taken control of Oslo with paratroops and naval forces and never met the Royal Navy.
The important issue to keep in mind is although the Germans immediatly secured the capital at Oslo on April 9, the Norwegian Parliment, Royal Family and the national gold reserves evacuated the city, which kept the fighting going in the south until the eventual evacuation of the government around May 1st. The country wasnt secured until Narvic was finally captured on June 9.

The issue of sea zone for Oslo and Copenhagen relates to the air vs navy issue.  One reason the British sunk most German ships off the west coast of Norway was that bringing them too close to the Oslo Fijord would have exposed them to German land based aircraft.  If this was a real risk there would be no need to artificially make Oslo part of the Baltic sea zone.
