Germany Fa39

Well it seems that after a very long hiatus the tournament will start rolling again thank to MarshallArt

First turn Poland is gobbled up, it could not stand a three prong attack , nonetheless one arty was damaged in the process.
Denmark was taken to prevent the Brittish from poking into the Baltic Sea

Turn sent to a511.

Russia watches the lightning German conquest of Poland with a measure of alarm. Of course, she expected it, but the rapidity of the blitz was disconcerting. The agreed annexation of East Poland and the Baltics goes off smoothly.

Here is the situation in China:

Germany Fa39

Well the OKW has decided not to wait until Spring to deal with the french, no "drole de guerre", will they launch an all out preventive counter attack on TLC or might even try for Germany itself?

Uboat campaign has started pretty well, the yankess though don't seem to like it, their WR has bumped up.
Air ops also went rather well with a BB damaged.

Turn sent to a511

Russia / China Fall 39. Not much exciting to post. With the preponderance of Germany's forces in Western Europe, Russian fears are assuaged. Let the Germans bleed the imperialist French and English....

China's fighter was damaged by Japan (also damaging the Japanese fighter) during A511's turn. Chinese rail was also damaged.... The nationalists would repair the rail if it weren't in a communist sector.

(Hopefullly, the WA can extract a few casualties during the fall of France next turn.)

Turn sent to GKar.

WAllies, Fall '39: Britain decides not to waste troops in attacking the superior Wehrmacht and leaves the continent, much to France's discontent...
The Royal Navy does sink a German destroyer detachment however.

Turn sent to rjh1971.

(Picture below was actually taken after ending the turn, thus it is winter already.)

Thanks for the compliments Joe and G.

Germany Wi40

France has fallen one turn ahead of schedule but we had to pay a high price for it, 2 inf one arty and a fighter, soon they will be recovered but a high price.
Used to play with v1.03 I couldn't undo the HB move, another cassualty .
Also the french fleet rather than scuttle their ships have given them to Britain , the Admiralty will be very please with two french LF and that BB
The uboat campaign continues...

Not much excitement this turn. Agents in Berlin steal research info from the special armament programs (and decides to share it with England so as to better weaken both imperialist factions as they bleed each other in internicine conflict). Soviet spies in Tokyo indicate that Japan is building at least two more carriers and CAGs. They also steal Japanese intelligence data. These are also shared with the Imperialist dogs in the West. Russia has not forgotten 1905 and does not mind if tensions rise between Japan and the US.

I am still learning how to paste pictures for the AAR and fear that I somehow botched that for China. As such, I don't have a photo for this post (sorry). Anyhow, I had a AA damaged by a511. Interestingly, both my damaged AA and fighter (from a previous turn) are in the Sinkiang production queue.  WHY DOES THIS OCCUR WHEN THEY WERE DAMAGED OVER WORKING FACTORIES, WITH POPULATIONS? Anyhow, I redistributed some troops in China to force Japan to attack Foochow (? can't remember name) or to garrison Thailand. Either will create a slight chance of the US reducing its gift.

In the interest of keeping things moving along, I will post now (a511 has sent me the file several days ago, but still has not posted in the AAR).

Anyhow, Russian spies steal Japanese production and intel data. Looks like Japan is aiming for six carriers. German research data are also stolen. She is engaging in broad-based development in inf, artillery, armour, air, and subs. German strategic air is at 6 evasion (I have been playing 1.03 for so long, I can't remember whether this is an achievement in 1.02.....)

Japan has been bloodying China. Another AA is damaged, as is a Chinese factory. The militia threatening French Indochina is also destroyed by air strikes. Frustratingly, all three damaged Chinese units (!!!!!) have been queued in Sinkiang. My other factories (with nothing queued) inexplicably and illogically seem to be boycotting production of units. (argh) My ruminations about gift reduction in the previous post appear to be rather misplaced. This does not appear to be a possibility in 1.02.....

as the high command of JP has made a personal visit to China to give medals to the great IJA, the AAR was not posted until today ...

better progress in infra-structure bombing and another AA gun was hit.  so "sad" to know that the damaged AA guns were all sitting in Sinkiang ... Sinkiang will be sooooooo invinicible!!!

Russia engages in some technology transfer and shuffles some units on training exercises. China is already almost completely emasculated. Guess where the newly damaged AA queued.... Here is a pic of relative force strengths (and no, I won't go whole hog into arty - but I will build a fair amount of them, especially early on).

This time the LW didn't have to deal with fighter escorts over the Med and did a good job, nonetheless they were spoted arriving in Malta and refiting, they will problaby be on cap next term.
The Yugoslavia coup d'etat hasn't take placed yet, but our forces are ready for it.
The Atlantic campaign has seen 3 more TF damaged, one of them with 1 supply.

Not a lot of excitement. Stalin watches gleefully as the conflict widens in the West. Disconcertingly, however, China appears to have been completely emasculated due to strategic bombing and poor production decisions. She is a sitting duck, should the IJA choose to expand inland. Fortunately, the preponderance of losses fall on Kai Shek's forces; the communists have (sensing the tide has turned) gone underground, ready to wage partisan war against both the Japanese and the Nationalists should an opportunity arise.

No screenshot this turn. Uncle Joe wonders what the Germans are up to. He fails to appreciate why the Wehrmacht would need 13 armour for England. That said, the Nazis have three paratroop divisions that might be used to threaten the British isles. Too, the Kriegsmarine has 6 large wolfpacks (including those of Italy) disrupting British shipping lines. Soviet intel provides little information of relative troop quality. German infantry are 6/6; German armour are 8/7; fighters are 6/6 (range one); subs 2/2. Stalin suspects that a number of higher quality units are in development, as available information would lead him to question where German resources have been going (admittedly, they have been occupied with England). He orders that infrastructure repairs be made to East Poland so that troops might be easily moved to the German border, should this be necessary.

Receiving a plea from both Nationalist and Communist Chinese for aid, Russia decides that neither side are fit allies and that gift munitions and training would simply be wasted. If Japan wishes for China, she may have it.

For now.
