just having a close look at the Hungary map and two questions, (I will leave the importance to those who no the game better)

1 Buda-Pest, Buda is on one side of the river and Pest is on the other, whilst on the map the river is not even in the same hex?
2 should lake Belaton (I think thats how it's spelt) be on the map? it is a rather large lake.

any thoughts? (ok I know that was a third question, but..........)

All rivers run down hexsides while all cities occupy a hex. So, any city that has a river running down the middle of it is not going to appear 'correct' on the WIF maps. On the other hand, each hex is roughly 90 km in diameter, which makes all the details within a hex somewhat of a compromise anyway.

There was a discussion sometime ago about the European Map - I cannot find the detail - but I am sure that Lake Balaton was mentioned. I think its inclusion has been parked until MWIF2?

I have been lurking the Ai threads for quite awhile. Now I know why I am a second rate WiF player. I react more than I plan. Thanks for your hard work in helping to plan the AI.

At 77km long, Lake Balaton nearly fills that area of 90k- particularly given that it could sit along a hex side as a river does. It would sit neatly along the E-W hex side below Budapest.

But as to Lake Balaton, it is not on the paper map. Thus it will not be in this version of MWIF.

Yes, see post #42.

It is on the list of edits for MWiF2, if changes on the European map become "allowed".
