Hi everyone,
one of my friends talked me into this game, told me it was a great pbem. I've played the AI on hard as the Japanese for a bit but I thought the AI was boring. So Carnage and I decided to start a pbem game, I'm Japan.

I've never used CHS 2.08 is it really much different? Also were using scenerio 157 w/ the Nik mod. I can't move my Southeast fleet units on Truk and Palau, is this normal? Also during my testing, I landed a unit on a island without a base and can't get him off, again is this normal?

Sorry I can't answer those questions Trez, I haven't messed around with WITP in along time, certainly not the Japanese.

PS When you do get out of rectal defilade email me when you want to start.

Sounds like you did not load the new maps that you need for CHS. The CHS maps will include Panama and Aden. I can't explain how to load the maps, since I haven't done it in over a year, but go through the CHS instructions throughly.

Does sond like you haven't installed it correctly. There's a CHS Base package and an art update that needs installing, plus any scenario.

You can get it from here plus instruction.

I reinstalled WITP, updated, installed AB's extended map and CHS following directions and still I can not move troops off Truk and Palau for first turn.  Any other suggestions?

I think we are going to need a little more info.

First, is there a base for Panama and Aden on your map? If yes, then your have the maps installed correctly.

Second, are you able to load the unit onto ships and the ships just are not moving? Or, you try to load them onto ships and the units do not show up? Or....something else? Give us some details on what you are doing....screanshots may help also.

Yes Panama and Aden are there.

No, not able to load units from Truk or Palau on to ships.  Ships can be formed into TF's and moved.  Only option for TF is to load supplies, the other options are greyed out.  Units transfered to different commands will not load either.  This problem is only on those 2 islands.  I thought it was some time delay that had to happen, but I read about ppl taking Rabul with the first 3 days or quicker.  Thanks for the help

I'm not real familar with CHS. The one game I had going in it was stopped because of life, so I'm working from memory.

Seems to me that someone else had this problem also. Try disbanding the TF and recreate it.

Assuming you are not talking about a static unit and the TF has not reached 1000 op points, I suspect it is hardwired in CHS to prevent unhistorical deployment from forward bases on turn one.

On the other hand, I have not used CHS and have not done a Jap first turn since several updates back.

1000 op pts?  I don't recall that in the manual.  I'll look into that.  And the units don't say there static.  I think I'll let it play for a few days just to see if they will release or if it is something else.  Thanks for the help you guys are give me

I've got CHS installed and scen 157 and I don't have any problems like this.  The only static unit at truk is the the Truk bas force.  It still pionts to an installation problem.

Assuming you have the correct maps the other thing is the PWhex.dat file.  This is the beast that contains hex info.  If this is wrong then the game might think that truk is in a different hex.  It should hex 66,78.
