Status: offline 		My father said that the B-29 was a pretty comfortable plane to fly in compared to other bombers.  The engines were much quieter and the entire fuselage was presurized and fully heated so you could move around in shirt sleeves.

Boeing saw that the future of the company after the war lay in commercial travel and figured there would be a good market for an airliner derived from the B-29, so they got the government to pay for the development of some creature comforts they knew would be required for an airliner version.

Since the 1950s, Boeing has mostly broken even on military projects and made the bulk of their profit from commercial projects.

A long time ago  I was fortunate enough to get into "FiFi" at a local airshow, I actual Sat in all three of these seats in Turn, the Sight for the guns was very cool.
